The latest ad for the run-off election in Georgia uses Democrat Jim Martin’s own words against him. Martin claims that middle class is a state of mind, not an economic status, which may surprise … well, just about everyone:
What does Martin mean by that? Is poor a state of mind as well? Rich? It’s incoherent even as philosophy, but as policy, it’s really, really dumb. If all we need for a middle class is a state of mind, then we can tax the real middle class into poverty without any problem at all. Which, according to the NRSC, Jim Martin has already tried to do on a number of occasions.
Hopefully, this ad gets plenty of play on Georgia television.
Update: Apparently, it’s not going to be an ad. Pity. Also, I got the front page image from a friend at the NRSC, but it’s originally from Georgia Premium, a conservative Peach State blog.
