Sometimes you should avoid telling the truth to avoid hurting people.
"Your baby is so cute" is more appropriate to say than "Wow, that is one ugly infant."
Telling the truth serves no worthwhile purpose, and not telling the truth serves a very important one.
But, generally speaking, the world is better served when we speak the truth with clarity and bluntness, and that's doubly so when we are arguing about important issues.
Jerry Brewer claims that Kanter is not treating the subject of men in women's sports with the seriousness and nuance it deserves.

Men can't be women. There is no nuance necessary. Kanter Freedom is treating the whole situation with the mockery it warrants. pic.twitter.com/KdOlYOHdxa
Think of how many times the world would have been better off if more people stood up and courageously spoke the truth. How many doctors and epidemiologists knew that the establishment was pushing out lies and bull excrement during COVID, but stayed silent because social pressure made them feel they had to?
I bet quite a few.
Enes Kanter Freedom came to taunt, be ejected and ring hollow, writes @JerryBrewer.

He lusts for relevance. It seems that too many at the WNBA gate have the same intentions.https://t.co/BUy1KnuXR0 pic.twitter.com/gsKe2wYp4e
How many people stayed quiet during the alphabet hysteria, and still do so because they know that they will stand mostly alone among their peers? If only they had joined up with their peers and told the truth, the social stigma of doing so would have evaporated, and many horrors could have been avoided.

WOW! WNBA FACES BACKLASH OVER PRO-WOMEN SHIRT CENSORSHIP AND PRO-TRANS JUMBOTRON MESSAGE
The WNBA is facing accusations of a HUGE double standard after two women who paid $1,000 were told to CENSOR their pro-women T-shirts, while former NBA player Enes Kanter Freedom was EJECTED from a game for wearing a shirt defining “woman.” Critics point out that the WNBA also displayed a pro-trans message on its JUMBOTRON. The league is also being warned that losing Caitlin Clark could cost it massive momentum, with critics calling it a “one woman league” and arguing the WNBA is risking its relevance by taking a position on biological men competing against biological women in sports.
Still, far too few are willing to stand by their peers as they tell the truth, and many discourage their peers from sticking their heads above the crowd to shout, "That's not true."
We see that right now with Enes Kantor Freedom and Royce White, where even many normally smart people (and plenty of scared dumb ones) are shouting down these guys for standing up to the gender tyrants.

What these men are doing is not bullying; it's standing up to the bullies who shout at young girls who want the ability to compete in sports on an even playing field. Somebody has to, and the best way to do that is make the bullies eat their words.
Last night, @seattlestorm co-owner Celeste Keaton cursed out two teen girls for wearing @xx_xyathletics shirts, calling them "f*cking insane." One of them was left in tears. I tried to get security involved and was told I should email the front office. pic.twitter.com/Qi8TcfRtYB

And bullies they are. The trans cult strikes out at anybody who challenges their ridiculous assertions, and they are able to do so because they have taken on the mantle of kindness and moral superiority. When an owner of a basketball team feels free to verbally assault young girls because she is so confident that the crowd will be on her side, it's not the teens who are the bullies, but the people who back the aggressors in this culture war.

The sports commentariat has, for the most part, trashed Royce and Freedom, trying to enforce a social norm that is as entrenched as not telling a parent that their baby is ugly. But the two are not the same, since no purpose is served by shattering a parent's pride in their flesh and blood; an important one is served by standing up for women who are being harassed and bullied.
It’s “too nuanced and consequential” to pick a side on whether men should be able to play women’s sports. This is the legit argument of the piece. These people’s brains are broken. pic.twitter.com/5VCn7ZdLrt

The thing is, there is nothing nuanced about this clash of visions. Either you know what a woman is or you don't, and the consequences for real women and girls are not in the least nuanced.
The WNBA chose this fight. Their expectation was that nobody outside meanie Republicans would choose to fight back.
That was a bad assumption.
Good. They deserve to be ridiculed, and the higher the profile of the person ridiculing them, the better.
What Enes and Royce are doing isn’t about basketball.

It’s about forcing a truth the WNBA still won’t say out loud:
Men cannot become women.
That was obvious to every civilization on earth until about four years ago.

That’s why their task force still can’t define “woman.”
The second they do, the whole house of cards collapses.
Support them.
Elon Musk bought Twitter because they censored The Babylon Bee over their mocking of Richard Levine, and the world is a better place for it. Perhaps something good will come out of Freedom's and White's challenge to the WNBA. At least they are standing up for an important truth.
