New York AG Letitia James, of All People, Attacked Zohran Mamdani's Radicals

As I wrote in my first post this morning, and many times before, the Democratic Party civil war is heating up, with the Organized Crime Democrats currently being smoked by the Bolshevik DSA/Democrats. The OCD Democrats are running scared, both because they are getting displaced and because they fear that the Party itself is being electorally damaged in non-Deep Blue areas.

Chuck Schumer and Hakeem Jeffries are in the crosshairs and totally freaking out. They need the seats these radicals are taking, so they are afraid to come out and criticize them directly, but they also see a direct threat to their power. Schumer is already a dead man walking, and Jeffries is rightly worried that he could be next. After all, he is also a New York City Democrat, and even if he becomes Speaker, he will be plagued by a radical left flank whose power is growing and whose willingness to play ball is quite limited.

So in steps Letitia James, who endorsed Zohran Mamdani for the Mayor's race, and who might be regretting that she made a deal with the Devil (assuming she had a real chance to avoid doing so and maintain her own political viability)

The reality is setting in -- the barbarians are through the gates and into the ranks of the Democrat party.

Not to advance the Democrat party's agenda, but to hijack it and replace it with their own.

This comment by James is very interesting because she has stepped forward to say what Hakeem Jeffries and Chuck Schumer -- both NYC pols -- have not been willing to say.

This is Leticia James' unofficial announcement that she will be running for Schumer's Senate seat, and she's bring the "Democrat" Party with her -- and not the DSA.

PARTY PURGE: New York Attorney General Letitia James is blasting New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani's slate of primary endorsements, warning that the progressive push risks fracturing the party structure.

"Some of the candidates that he has supported are individuals who do not understand the politics of New York City ... All of us are a little frustrated with the Democratic Party. But you don't blow it up."

We can all appreciate the irony of LETITIA JAMES standing up against the radicals, but it really is less surprising than you might think.

James is your prototypical OCD; she is more a mob enforcer than a politician, who revels in harassing Republicans, extorting big business, and pillaging the wealth. Her radicalism is mostly performative—playing to the crowd. She loves power, money, and fame, and plays to the crowd. She is no true believer. She wants the Golden Eggs, not to eat the goose.

Letitia James' critique of the Bolsheviks makes sense from her perspective. Why blow up a political machine that is so profitable? She doesn't understand that when she says "You don't blow it up," she is talking to people who want to do that.

Revolutionaries aren't interested in the Danegeld model of politics; they want to destroy the whole thing, not extort money from it. The Organized Crime Democrats love the current system as much as they deride it. Just as they love their billionaires, whom they attack as they virtue signal. Where else are you going to get the money from fraud and payoffs?

If you need another example of this war heating up, a member of the New York City Rent Control Board, which sets rents for controlled apartments, resigned because Mamdani's appointed members are violating the law by freezing rents without justification.

Law? What law?

On one level, it's tempting to pop the popcorn, sit back, and revel in the entertainment and schadenfreude. On a deeper level, this is really frightening. These Bolsheviks are determined to destroy us and will do almost anything to do so. They see the current moment as the apotheosis of their "Long March Through the Institutions," in which they have first systematically taken over the cultural means of production, and only then taken over the political system through elections and coercion.

The civil war will continue to heat up, and I honestly don't know which side will ultimately win. The Organized Crime Democrats created and fostered this monster, and they are on their heels for the moment and for the near-term, but the pillaging they have done has entrenched them and given them enormous resources to fight back.

Are they resilient enough to take their Party back to keep the grift going, or are they doomed by their creation? In the short term, I would bet on the rise of the Bolsheviks; it's not like the Democrats can afford to kick them out.

Longer term? Who knows?

Stay tuned.
