Chuck Todd Implies Air Traffic Controllers Might Crash Planes Unless Sec. Duffy Is Nicer to Them

I was about to go take a nap (I woke up REALLLL early this morning for some unknown reason), but then I saw this piece of idiocy from Chuck Todd, and I decided to take a swipe at him:

There is so, so much wrong with this take, I hardly know where to begin...

First and foremost, I sure hope that our safety in the air is not solely dependent on the mood and goodwill of air traffic controllers, who may one day decide that their boss is a jerk and start flying planes into the ground. I have to imagine that in an organization as large and complex as the FAA, there are more than a few jerks who are bosses.

The same holds true in hospitals, power plants, and other places where life and death decisions are made. We expect professionals to be, well, professional. It really isn't too much to ask that one learn not to act like a 2-year-old when somebody chastises you.

But really, that's just the start when thinking about Chuck's post, because at least in some sense, he is unfortunately right about the particular air traffic controllers, who are classified as essential employees who are not furloughed during the kinda sorta government shutdown.

So those who are walking off the job? They ARE endangering the public because they are ticked off, and frankly, they should pay a big price for doing so. Secretary Duffy is right to chastise, even threaten them. If your surgeon decided to walk out after you told him that you support Trump, I would say that it is he who is the baddie.

This is all part of the way that lefties think--if a conservative does something bad, it is his fault; if a liberal does something bad, it is the conservative's fault.

Most of the "shutdown" discourse is like that. Republicans passed a clean CR, keeping the government open, making no policy changes, so that the budget negotiation could continue without disruption. The shutdown is, 100%, caused by the Democrats in the Senate demanding things.

Yet it is the Republicans' fault in the eyes of people like Chuck Todd because, well, Democrats are always right. IT is the same kind of thinking that blames Charlie Kirk for being assassinated--if only he would agree with liberals, he would be alive!

See? Do what we want, or else!

That it doesn't occur to Todd that people shouldn't throw tantrums or threaten people if they don't get their way is telling. He literally implied that unless we coddle air traffic controllers and never criticize their behavior, they might kill people. I doubt he really believes it, but then again, I doubt he even thought about the implied threat.

He just assumes that the expected reaction is a tantrum, because it always is with liberals.

Ugly.

Editor’s Note
: The Schumer Shutdown is here. Rather than put the American people first, Chuck Schumer and the radical Democrats forced a government shutdown for healthcare for illegals. They own this.
