Pro-Hamas 'Peace' Groups Preparing to Celebrate October 7th

Liberals keep telling us that the "protests," occupations, and outright violence against Jews since October 7th are a reaction to the Israeli response to the October 7th attacks.

The Israelis are committing genocide, or at least their response to the terrorist attack on October 7th is disproportionate.

Certainly, there is no antisemitism at the root of the rise in hostility to Israel and the Jews. It is, they tell us, the Jews' fault.

Yeah, well, bunk. I do not deny that one can criticize Israeli policy without being antisemitic, just as anybody can criticize American government policies without hating America or Americans. As with any other topic, arguments should be addressed on their own merits without always resorting to ad hominem attacks.

With that said, there's little doubt that a lot, perhaps most, attacks on Israel by the mobs we see on college campuses and on the streets of our cities, both here and abroad, are motivated by raw hatred, and nothing shows that more than the repeated celebrations of the October 7th massacre.

The celebrations began on October 7th, 2023, and a new series of them is planned for the second anniversary of the massacre.

These people don't want peace. They want Israel destroyed, Jews wiped out, and eventually all the West "decolonized."

They are barbarians, and they are inside the gates.

No doubt many liberals truly believe that one doesn't have to choose between Israel and Hamas, and that if only Israel bent a little a peace deal could be made in which everybody could live together in peace and harmony. But they can only do so by willfully rejecting the evidence before their eyes, which has become a theme.

This attitude is far worse than Neville Chamberlain's when he conducted peace talks with Hitler, because there had never been a figure like Hitler before he rose to power. Certainly not in a civilized country like Germany. There were the communists of the Soviet Union, of course, but nobody seriously thought of Russia as a fully Western power with deep roots in Western Culture. Germany, and Prussia before it, had been a civilized country.

The Palestinians, as long as they have thought of themselves as a "people" (which is a relatively recent phenomenon), have never been civilized. As long as I have been alive, they have been terrorists, with hijackings, bombings, massacres, suicide bombings, and countless atrocities. They teach Jew-murder to their children, and even suicide bombers who failed in their mission speak wistfully of the promise of paradise that was denied to them by the Israelis.

Everybody knows how murderous the Palestinians are, and millions of people around the world embrace their movement. They will celebrate the Palestinian "martyrs" who committed such atrocities. They will be doing it on the anniversary of the worst such atrocity in the history of the Israel-Palestinian conflict.

They have chosen a side, and it is the side of terrorists whose avowed mission is the genocide of the Jews. They don't hide that mission. They write it down in their manifestos, brag about it on television, and even live-stream their atrocities to the applause of these Western savages who support them.

Our universities embrace them, make them professors, and allow their disciples to "occupy" campuses and harass Jews.

These savage Palestinians and their Western allies tell us who they are and what they want. The liberals who choose to stand by their side choose to look away, denying the obvious. Instead, they blame the forces of civilization for resisting and refusing to die.

I despair when I think about this. People who I know to have good hearts choose to look away and deny reality, because reality is ugly. They would rather live in a fantasy world, and in the process, they are destroying the real one and handing it over to savages.

I honestly don't understand it, although I have seen this tendency throughout my life. They were useful idiots when the Soviet Union was an ascending power; they sided with the North Vietnamese as they massacred civilians in the South; they embraced Che Guevara, Fidel Castro, and Hugo Chavez; they shrugged at the hoaxes deployed against Donald Trump; they defend Antifa, MS-13, and Tren de Aragua; and now they side with Hamas.

I think they do so at least partly because they find reality too harsh, so they choose to believe that if they only appeal to civilized people and demand we behave more nicely to the savages, they, too, will become civilized. It's the same principle they deploy to argue that if we treat criminals more kindly and never put them in jail, they will become researchers who cure cancer.

Whatever their motives, the embrace of the bad guys is difficult to forgive, even if it comes from a misguided sense of "kindness."

In the real world, results matter more than intentions. It is necessary, even easy, to forgive misjudgments. But when the misjudgments stem from rejecting obvious facts, easy forgiveness is moral cowardice.

Editor’s Note: The Schumer Shutdown is here. Rather than put the American people first, Chuck Schumer and the radical Democrats forced a government shutdown for healthcare for illegals. They own this.
