I am deeply saddened to inform you that Biden's Monkeypox Czar, Demetre C. Daskalakis MD MPH (he/his/him), has resigned from the CDC in a principled protest against Trump Administration policies.
It is a shock move that deeply wounds the credibility of the Robert F. Kennedy, Jr.-led Department of Health and Human Services. While Biden never let ideology interfere with the medical recommendations and research, under fascist Trump, even well-qualified Pentagram-wearing health professionals can't bear to bend to the political will of the Nazi infrastructure.

As you would expect, the good doctor (his name is too difficult to keep spelling), is quitting both because he hates fascism and loves transgender ideology. Good on him.
My grandfather, who I am named after, stood up to fascist forces in Greece and lost his life doing so. I am resigning to make him and his legacy proud. I am resigning because of the cowardice of a leader that cannot admit that HIS and his minions’ words over decades created an environment where violence like this can occur. I reject his and his colleagues’ thoughts and prayers, and advise they direct those to people that they have not actively harmed.
For decades, I have been a trusted voice for the LGBTQ community when it comes to critical health topics. I must also cite the recklessness of the administration in their efforts to erase transgender populations, cease critical domestic and international HIV programming, and terminate key research to support equity as part of my decision.
Public health is not merely about the health of the individual, but it is about the health of the community, the nation, the world. The nation’s health security is at risk and is in the hands of people focusing on ideological self-interest.
Back in the good ol' days of Biden, ideology played no role in making public health decisions, such as directing medical treatments based on race or burying the facts about COVID's origin, or the health effects of COVID vaccines. It was The Science™ that directed all decisions, and who better to determine the value of science than a Satanist and an insane transgender "woman" who encouraged medical professionals to recommend sterilizing and mutilating minors?
Evil MAGATs might celebrate the fact that a Satanist will no longer be running our vaccine program, but that just proves they are bigoted Christians who prefer science to The Science™.
