As the Left goes insane fighting the deportation of Venezuelan and El Salvadorian gang members with proven records of violence, there is one indisputably oppressed group of refugees they oppose extending a helping hand to: white South Africans. 

President Trump has granted refugee status to South Africans who are fleeing racially motivated violence and expropriation of their property, and the move, which so far has resulted in only a handful of American-flag waving refugees coming to our shores, is wildly controversial.

Until five minutes ago, anybody could show up at our borders and, without any evidence, claim that they should be granted asylum, and the Democrats and Pravda Media would go to the mat, insisting that any attempts to keep them out would be tantamount to murder.

In South Africa, the murders are happening before our eyes, and the government has an explicit policy of expropriating property without compensation. Political rallies are dedicated to the eradication of an entire racial group (Democrats seem to like eliminating racial and religious groups associated with "colonizers"), and the media bends over backward to insist that this is merely a metaphor and not a problem at all. 

It is a perfectly understandable cultural expression.

News outlets are suddenly telling us that there is little to no evidence that South Africa is filled with racial violence and discrimination; only a few whites are being killed, or perhaps it isn't even happening at all. After all, the government that is busy passing laws about stealing property insists that this isn't the case at all.

Or, perhaps, historical wrongs justify the violence. Sure, these particular South Africans didn't do anything wrong, but their ancestors did, so killing them really is kinda justified.

We use this standard all the time. It's why Americans are busy plotting the murder of Germans, Japanese, or other people who are descendants of people who committed atrocities. Guilt travels through the blood, right?

Until five minutes ago, people on the left were all about open borders, but the assumption was that the borders would only be open to people who have skin several shades darker than that of the South Africans. As soon as the refugees are white, the rules change dramatically, and we are told that the victims deserve what they are getting. 

A cross was planted for every white farmer murdered in South Africa, forming a massive memorial.

The rules change, depending on who they might apply to. We all know that the batch of "refugees" Biden opened the borders to were not fleeing political oppression--they were coming here for economic opportunity. Who wouldn't, if they could? 

Almost 2.5% of the world population, according to several polls, have expressed a desire to move to the United States, which is about 200 million people. In the Americas, the revealed preference of people suggests that the number is likely higher than that, since people literally risk their lives to trek here. 

We can't take them all in, obviously.

The panel sounded like they were about to cry at the fact that white people were allowed to seek asylum.

Americans should take in a limited number of refugees from around the world, presuming that they are facing genuine political violence. 

I would support granting refugee status to Nigerian Christians who are facing genocide. Their claim to refugee status is far stronger than that of Venezuelans fleeing the collapse of the country's economy due to socialist policies. We have to pick and choose because our resources are not infinite. 

Democrats pretend otherwise until the refugees are white. There are infinite resources available to ensure Tren de Aragua or MS 13 members can stay here, but as soon as the victims of political violence are white, all bets are off. 

After all, only a few of them are getting killed. And, of course, they descended from "colonizers."
