The winning is getting tiresome, Mr. President.
Stop, stop. I can't take it!
No doubt the left is going to have a hissy fit, but President Trump's order to send up to 30,000 of the worst violent criminal aliens is neither unprecedented nor unduly cruel.
Believe it or not, President Clinton used Guantanamo Bay to house up to 200,000 Cubans and Haitians during his term. They, too, were claiming asylum, and while they never made it to the shores of the United States, the detention was vastly larger than what Trump plans to do.
Trump says he's going to use Guantanamo Bay to detain the absolute worst criminal illegal aliens.

Biden freed terrorists from there and tried shutting it down. Trump is using it to detain terrorists.

Trump isn't going to send mothers, children, or abuelas off to purgatory. The plan is to take the worst of the worst and detain them where they can't escape back into the United States.
🚨🔥Kristi Noem says Trump’s 30,000-person facility for criminal aliens at Guantanamo Bay will be for the WORST of the WORST:

The move will give AOC a great opportunity for yet another photoshoot crying outside a detention facility. That should be entertaining.
No doubt there are many good reasons for following this strategy, and detaining the worst migrants is only one of them. It will scare the bejeezus out of aliens who are on the fence (so to speak) about trying to ride out the Trump years, will deter the influx of aliens before they get here, and send a signal that Trump and company are not screwing around.
That message has been getting out. Since Trump entered office, border encounters have plummeted.
🚨🇺🇸 BORDER NUMBERS PLUNGE 92.9% IN TRUMP'S FIRST WEEK!

Daily migrant encounters dropped from Biden's average of 2,087 to just 148 under Trump's new border measures, according to official data.

A 93% drop is nothing to sneeze at.
It's all part of Trump's "shock and awe" strategy, and by all indications, it is working masterfully.
Democrats and immigration advocates are going to portray this as treating migrants the same as we treat terrorists, but that is a rhetorical sleight of hand.
The administration’s border czar, Tom Homan, said U.S. Customs and Immigration Enforcement would run the facility in Cuba and that the “the worst of the worst” could go to Guantanamo.
Still, the details of Trump’s plan were not immediately clear. The U.S. military base has been used to house detainees from the U.S. war on terrorism for years.
But authorities have also detained migrants at sea at a facility known as the Migrant Operations Center on Guantanamo, a site the U.S. has long leased from the Cuban government. Many of those housed there have been migrants from Haiti and Cuba.
The U.S. has leased Guantanamo land from Cuba for more than a century. Cuba opposes the lease and typically rejects the nominal U.S. rent payments. Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel said Trump wanting to ship immigrants to the island is “an act of brutality.”
“The US government’s decision to imprison migrants at the Guantanamo Naval Base, in an enclave where it created torture and indefinite detention centers, shows contempt for the human condition and international law,” Rodriguez wrote in a post on X.
No doubt, we will hear more about the Nazification of the United States.
If Trump were sending families and children to Gitmo, I would get uncomfortable, and no doubt many people would be shocked at this decision. But as the stories of the people sent there come out, the Democrats will wind up having to defend the criminals to make their point. No doubt Tom Homan will start releasing names and stories as the detention center starts taking in the criminals, and Republicans will use those stories as a political cudgel.
It will be a winning strategy, I think.
They really seem to love Mexico so why are they protesting the President giving them free trips back home if they came illegally? You’d think with all the national pride they seem to have, that they’d celebrate a free trip back home! https://t.co/K8JHJ1r3Ce

One of the keys to Trump's success will be keeping the Democrats discombobulated. They are being bombarded with so much incoming fire that they will have to pick one or two issues, and I think this will be an effective trap for them to fall into. If they take the bait, they will get far out over their skis. And if they do, it will backfire.
Sec Def Pete Hegseth: "Guantanamo has long been a place for migrants. In fact, in the '90s, tens of thousands of Haitian and Cuban migrants staged there as part of a crisis. We have an even bigger crisis on our hands now."

When the rapists, murderers, and pedophiles start moving into the detention center, the Democrats will have to answer why they shouldn't be there.
So, however you feel about the initial optics, the strategy will likely pay off. It will lead to more self-deportation, reduced illegal immigration, and sets a political trap for the Democrats.
Not to mention getting the worst of the worst out of our country.
