Insane Battle Brewing Over Bathrooms in Congress

I said the other day that Alphabet ideology was a hill the Democrats are willing to die on.

As Americans have grown more wary about transgender "rights," Democrats have dug in their heels on the issue. And the fight is now taking place in the halls of Congress.

Democrats, you see, have elected a female-identifying male to the House, and Representative Nancy Mace is putting forth a bill to ban men from using women's restrooms.

There was a time--like five minutes ago--when we wouldn't be having fights like this, but here we are. As the Democrats have joined the neo-pagan cult of Alphabetism they have adopted an orthodoxy that gender is a cultural artifice, and that fighting for men cosplaying women is the civil rights movement of our time.

Nancy Mace is a victim of sexual violence, and while all women have a right to privacy when doing their business or using a locker room, her status as a survivor provides special moral weight to her arguments. She is leading the charge for all the women who work at the Capitol to be protected from sexual predators and autogynophiles.

Even "moderate" Democrats are rushing to the defense of the high principle that gender is a social construct not a biological reality, and that women should therefore feel perfectly comfortable sharing private spaces with men who claim to be women.

Not every man is a sexual predator and not every person with gender dysphoria is a physical threat to women. But as much as we talk about making people feel "comfortable" and "accepted," none of the Alphabet crowd seems to care a whit about the comfort of women who are legitimately worried about sharing their private spaces with men.

Women shouldn't have to justify why they don't want to undress in the presence of penises. I get a shy bladder using a public urinal and hated gang showers, so imagine what it is like to be a woman with a man sharing the most intimate spaces with them.

Alphabetologists put men in charge of rape crisis centers, house males with rape victims, put pedophiles in women's prisons, and bash women on playing fields and boxing rings.

It has to stop, and Republicans have a mandate to do so.

The irony for Democrats is that, since this is a religious and not a political position, they cannot back down easily. Deviance from the woke version of the Nicene Creed is heresy.

Unfortunately, Republican leadership hasn't heard the message quite loudly and clearly enough. Speaker Johnson is right to respect the will of Delaware voters and must accommodate his needs, but he shouldn't buckle to his fetish for pretending to be a woman.

There are 435 members of the House, and it makes no moral or political sense to buckle to the whims of one mentally ill Member or the crazies in the Democratic Party who support a cult.

Transgender "rights" were a major issue in this election, and voters made their views clear. Johnson shouldn't betray them and abandon the legitimate needs of women to avoid a fight.
