Look, I keep saying that Kamala Harris could win this election with good reason: her floor is very high. Enough people can't stand Donald Trump that she remains a somewhat viable candidate despite being really, really, REALLY bad at this politics thing.
But by now it is undeniable that the Democrats are desperate and covered in flop sweat. Because Kamala Harris is really, really, REALLY bad at this politics thing, and has neither the time nor the capacity to get better. She is too stupid, vapid, and inept to improve measurably. She is at her peak performance, and it is pathetic.
The Democrats believe there is only one path to victory: demonize Donald Trump even more.
Why does Trump sound like Hitler, Stalin and Mussolini? Because he thinks it will work https://t.co/EZFf46kjPe

Anne Applebaum is following the Harris/Democrat/corporate media playbook, which is to scream louder about how scary and evil Donald Trump is.
Kamala Harris is famously not Donald Trump (or Joe Biden!), even though he apparently lives rent-free in her head. In the Brett Baier interview, she uttered his name at the rate of 1 time a minute, more or less.

It's all about ginning up fear. It's all she has. It's all the Democrats have. Harris is running to do...almost nothing. She has spewed out a few word salads about her agenda, but it is a big pile of nothing. Nobody who was even conceivably a swing voter has swung her way for the simple reason that she is vapid and increasingly annoying. Trump may be annoying to many people, but the world was a better place when he was president.
Kamala Harris has killed the "joy" campaign and replaced it with the "unbridled humorlessness and seething anger at jokes" campaign. We'll see if this new version goes better for her. https://t.co/vcylg1qYmW

So the Democrats trot out fear, scream "felon!," and threaten people with death if Donald Trump wins.

The problem they have is that they have been saying this for a decade, and somehow, everybody who opposes him is still alive, still not in jail, and still able to say whatever they want without fear of consequences. In fact, the Democrats keep doing what they accuse Trump of doing.
So now, when a respected columnist at a respected magazine pulls out the "Hitler, Stalin, and Mussolini" card, everybody but the already Trump-deranged shrugs. They have heard it endlessly already. It no longer has the power to shock. It becomes background noise for everybody except the brainwashed. And the brainwashed already hate Trump, so what's the point?
Desperate times call for desperate measures.
With just 19 days to go until Election Day, Vice President Kamala Harris has adopted a frantic, discombobulated strategy of throwing everything she can find at Donald Trump to see if anything sticks.
It’s become obvious that with millions of hardworking Americans struggling to make ends meet due to inflation, illegal immigrants being prioritized over U.S. citizens and wars raging around the globe, Ms. Harris’ message of more of the same isn’t resonating with voters.
Liberals have found themselves in panic mode. It seems the agreed-upon tactic for the closing days of the Harris campaign is — to quote former first lady Michelle Obama — to “go low.”
Ironically, the Democrat freakout has had the opposite of the intended effect. Over the past few years, moderate Democrats have been leaving the Democrat Party and defecting to Trump. Republicans have lost Dick Cheney, Liz Cheney, Adam Kinzinger, and Bill Kristol to the Democrats; the Republicans have gotten Elon Musk, Robert F. Kennedy Jr., Bill Ackman, many tech moguls in Silicon Valley, and working-class Americans.
Tulsi Gabbard: The Trump campaign has never given me “talking points”

“I had a reporter talk to me, and they were like, ‘You’re doing all of these events for Trump … they must give you some pretty tight talking points, right?’
I said, no, they never have. They’ve never given… pic.twitter.com/Ri1pIK7xpW
I like the trade.
Democrats look desperate and mentally ill. They are revealed to be liars and even hoaxers. They talk about Trump's rhetoric and then call him Hitler as if that will unite America.
The media has always been biased to some degree.
— Tandy (@dantypo) October 18, 2024
But it used to be far more subtle.
Now?
The media’s bias is so blatant that only a fool buys it.
Why so obvious?
Because when powerful people feel it slipping, they become increasingly desperate to exercise what little remains. https://t.co/dsWDJjBYN1
Trump is the most popular he has ever been in a campaign or while he was in office. The corporate media is at its low point, and for the first time in ages, during a campaign, more Americans identify as Republicans than Democrats.
Trump directs his harshest rhetoric at murderers and rapists; the Democrats direct their harshest rhetoric at Trump and his supporters.

Americans are not about to elect Hitler, Stalin, or Mussolini; they are about to elect a man who promises to Make America Great Again. After the past four years of being abused by Trump critics, I am pretty sure Americans, even those who wished for a more conventional candidate like J.D. Vance at the top of the ticket, like that prospect very much.
