Elon Musk has done more to move humanity into the space age than any single person in the world. SpaceX launches about 90% of mass to orbit, is the only American company to reliably provide access to the space station, has reduced the cost to reach orbit by astonishing amounts, and is developing a rocket--starship--that will land on the moon and Mars in a few years.

Then there is Tesla. Musk managed to build a new car company out of nothing, steal market share from the big boys, and is still the world's most successful electric car company.

And then there is Twitter/X, the #1 place to find news in the world and the biggest free speech platform in human history.
The European Union is determined to kill Twitter/X and is willing to damage humans' access to space in order to do it.

The tool that the EU wants to use is their Digital Services Act, which among other things gives governments in Europe the ability to control speech on social media platforms. To ban any speech they deem "misinformation," which is just another word for anything the bureaucrats don't want people to see.
Such as Donald Trump talking to Elon Musk. The EU threatened Twitter with fines if Elon broadcast a conversation with the once and former president because, well, they hate Trump.
Musk famously told advertisers off because they were blackmailing him to ban speech they disliked. He famously used NSFW language to respond to the threats.

The European Union is part of a worldwide movement to shut people up. To crush dissent. To brainwash people. It has been going on for years but accelerated during the Trump years and went nuclear during COVID. Their goal has always been total control. They had quietly put in place all the key pieces: mass censorship in EU, UK, Irish, Aus, CA, BR, et al, with DHS-led censorship in US. The purchase of Twitter by @elonmusk threw a wrench in their plans. But it also accelerated them.

Elon Musk is hardly the only free-speech warrior, but he is the most important because he owns Twitter/X. So, the European Union is specifically targeting HIM, not just Twitter/X. They are threatening to fine Twitter/X for allowing speech they don't like based on the total revenue of all companies with which he is associated. Companies that have nothing to do with X, such as SpaceX and Tesla. Companies with shareholders not named Musk.
The European Union (EU) has reportedly warned X that it may impose fines on the social platform that take into account revenue from Elon Musk’s other businesses, raising the size of a potential penalty.1
According to Bloomberg, the EU is considering whether to add sales from SpaceX, Neuralink, xAI and the Boring Company when it calculates the fines to impose on the social network. The European Commission, the EU's enforcement arm, has been probing X for violating the EU's Digital Services Act.2
Musk has said that the investigations impinge on free speech, the report said.
Tesla (TSLA), which unlike the other companies isn't under Musk's full control, wouldn't be included in the calculation, the report said, citing people familiar with the matter.
The EU can impose fines of as much as 6% of social media platform’s yearly global revenue if they fail to counter illegal content or disinformation online, according to the EU’s Digital Services Act.2
They aim to bankrupt Musk and Twitter or force him to buckle to their demands. Six percent of the revenue in these companies is a whole lotta moolah.
In a normal world, the President of the United States would echo Musk's language and tell the EU to "go f**k yourself" too. One of the foundational principles of the US is freedom of speech and religion, and the EU has declared war on our civilization. I have said before and will say again if the EU goes forward with these attacks on American citizens, we should leave NATO. Attacking our Constitution is a casus belli.
I don't use those words lightly. Our civilizational ties to Europe run deep, but attacking Americans' rights because Europe wants to be even more tyrannical is unacceptable. It is a war against American citizens, who have the right to speak freely.

Of course, our transnational elite isn't fond of American values and free speech, so they cheer on the EU in its attacks on Musk.
This is one of the primary reasons each of us has a responsibility to vote them out of office and fire the leaders of the Deep State. They are undermining America every day.
If Trump wins, God willing, this will stop. At least the European attack on American free speech rights will stop, and I expect Musk to help Trump root out the evildoers here in America.
