It was shocking, BREAKING news that Kamala Harris favors eliminating the Senate filibuster so that Roe v. Wade's provisions could be put into federal law.
Uh, yeah. I guess... Except that Kamala Harris has been all over the place on the filibuster over the years. She's been for keeping it, for eliminating it, and probably for somebody finally explaining to her what it actually is, since she is too mentally crippled to have a clear idea.

Vice President Harris is calling for the elimination of the Senate filibuster to codify the protections of Roe v. Wade. She made this announcement in an interview with Wisconsin Public Radio.
At this point, I suppose Kamala Harris taking a position on anything would be news...with the exception of statements on abortion. We already know what she thinks about the issue: the only good baby is a dead baby. There is no mountain she will not climb, no valley she will not trudge through, and no minefield she will not traverse in order to create a million corpses of children each year.
Getting rid of the filibuster is a no-brainer for her, as long as we can stop Americans from having children. We need more room for illegal immigrants, right?
If Republicans continue to block progress, I’ll get rid of the filibuster to pass a Green New Deal. #ClimateTownHall

It's not like Harris hasn't been open to upending the rules of the Senate in order to get her way. She isn't some reluctant institutionalist who is sad but determined to do what she thinks is right. She supported eliminating the filibuster for the Green Nude Eel, which was only about pillaging America's economy.
She cares even more about killing babies than ripping America's middle class off, if not by much. Preserving "norms" is only important when the norms benefit your agenda, after all.
🚨Kamala wants to abolish the filibuster, but here's the letter she signed as Senator pledging to support the filibuster to ensure the Senate "continues to serve as the world's greatest deliberative body."

Her word is meaningless.
She'll say anything to get elected. pic.twitter.com/XzDY4ZfJ8S
This is why, of course, she has also come out strongly against ending the filibuster when it suited her needs.
The only reason the filibuster has survived this long is that Republicans fear Democrats getting too much power with a majority and vice versa.
Call it a balance of terror. Perhaps 10% of politicians actually care about norms, the future beyond the next election, or the Constitution. They stick out like sore thumbs, driving everybody else in politics nuts.
I don't blame Harris for pushing this as news because, well, why not? It helps her campaign.
But the media, if they were actually about journalism, would have focused on her flipping and flopping, what ending the filibuster would mean, and actually increase the sum total of knowledge that citizens have.
But, of course, that is too much to ask. Harris wanted this to be BREAKING NEWS! so they pretended it was. As usual, that is how it goes. As with everything these days, it is nothing but a narrative, reality be damned.
PITCH: That's why, once again, I am asking for your support of HotAir and Townhall Media. We dig into stories. We suss out the truth. We call it like we see it--even if that means we don't always please conservatives. We do our best to tell you the truth, and when we get it wrong we set it right.
The blob is trying to strangle our revenue. Google suppresses many of our stories; the advertising monopolies steer big accounts toward the MSM and away from us. Fake "fact check" organizations label us "misinformers."
