The Kamala Harris campaign has one and only one issue keeping it afloat: defeat Donald Trump.
It's not a small issue because a lot of Americans have a deep and abiding hatred of Trump. More than a few have admitted that they would vote for a lobotomized squirrel if it kept Trump out of the White House. In fact, they did so in 2020, so their promises were clearly sincere.
But that portion of the population is hardly close to a winning plurality. But it explains why there is such an odd coalition behind Kamala Harris.

When Vlad the Mad Putin endorsed Harris I thought it was hilarious. On the one hand, it's pretty clear that Putin was trolling her. On the other, I suspect he really does prefer her over Trump. Trump was too unpredictable for the taste of any tyrant. On the one hand, Trump was famous for extending his hand to our adversaries, offering good relations in exchange for good behavior. On the other, he was also famous for coming down hard on adversaries who went against American interests.
It's called the carrot and stick approach. Democrats should try it sometimes. They act as if you can bribe our adversaries into being our friends.
Putin's endorsement was quickly followed by Dick Cheney's endorsement of Harris, which nobody could argue was a troll.
Still not a Dick Cheney fan, but glad he came out for Harris.

Cheney has joined the long list of swamp creatures lining up behind Harris and with good reason: every single Republican who backs Harris is a neoconservative whose main claim to "conservatism" is a lust for war whenever and wherever it could be had.
In this they line up perfectly with Hillary Clinton and the transnational elite, who have been agitating to keep the Ukraine war going despite the stalemate that is chewing up Ukrainians and spitting them out for the past couple of years. While I was fully on board with denying Putin his wish to take over all of Ukraine, it is insane to keep the war going now that it is clear that neither side will get a decisive victory. This is the World War I level of insanity.
Liberals, take note: If you support Kamala Harris, you are now on the same side as Dick Cheney. https://t.co/JPfTdbrSNq

I doubt Harris is as bloodthirsty as Hillary Clinton, who never saw a country she didn't want to bomb.

No, Harris' attraction for the warmongers is not her own bloodthirstiness but rather her weakness. Harris will do what she is told because she is so far out of her depth. She would be just as much in charge of her administration as Joe Biden is of his, which is not at all. Biden can go to the beach all day, every day, and it makes no difference. He is a figurehead. As will Harris be if she is elected.
Prior to the Big Switch, the reason so many Democrats were apprehensive about Kamala Harris was that they believed she did a bad job as vice president. How could she possibly be considered for the big job? Then, for some reason, everything changed. https://t.co/3CFDmqVejK

The Establishment is backing Harris precisely because they have contempt for her. They fear a Trump presidency because it is an existential threat, in much the same way they fear Musk because Twitter/X has the power to pop the bubble of their Narrative.
Harris, the lobotomized squirrel, is the perfect figurehead, provided she wins. Their fear prior to her elevation to the candidate was her manifest political incompetence; her attraction is her manifest incompetence at everything else.
It should be no surprise that there is a coalition made up of every Uniparty Establishment figure, the EU, and corporate leaders who profit off of government regulation.
Whether that coalition actually includes Putin or not is irrelevant. The real threat is the demons in the West who are crushing our freedoms. Putin may be evil, but he presents no threat to us compared to the 51 intelligence agents, the FBI, Homeland Security, and the regulatory state.
Putin can't take away our free speech rights.
