Want Up to the Minute on Assassination Attempt? Listen to Bongino

Peter Morgan

Dan Bongino is a working-class New Yorker from Queens and a man's man, which makes him the opposite of the whitebread Establishment media.

No doubt they look down on him. He can be bombastic, is unabashedly conservative, and a fan of Donald Trump. He is everything the media and the liberal Establishment hate. He doesn't even wear a suit when he broadcasts his podcast. He is usually in a tight T-shirt.

And Bongino is running circles around the mainstream media in reporting on the assassination attempt on Donald Trump.

Seriously. So far, the MSM has been running days behind Bongino on basic facts about what happened. Since the assassination attempt I have learned more, and more quickly, about what happened than I have in the MSM. And, so far, what he has been reporting has been confirmed...days later.

Now, Bongino has an advantage that the media doesn't. He was a Secret Service agent for 12 years, so he has sources eager to talk to him that the MSM doesn't. They know Dan, trust him, and want to get their story out because they are both angry as hell and ashamed of what has happened to the Secret Service.

Still, it is shocking how little information has been reported about the events of July 13th. One of the most momentous events of the 21st century took place, and next to nothing has been revealed by the government officials in charge of preventing it.

It's bizarre. It is enough to spark a thousand conspiracy theories, and the Biden administration seems fine with allowing that to happen. It is like they are flipping the bird at the American people and daring us to complain.

Ironically, Bongino has been inching toward a conclusion that undermines most conspiracy theories, and it boils down to this: in addition to the grotesque incompetence we already know of, the reason this happened was that the people who were assigned to be on the roof--and there were agents supposed to be there, his sources say--decided to stay inside the building because the roof was too hot.

They were uncomfortable, so they abandoned their post.

There are already hints of this in the media, and Josh Hawley is now asking the Secret Service if this is true, but Bongino had it first and had it earlier.

He also has details that explain why Trump wasn't moved off the stage more quickly. One of the bullets hit a hydraulic line on a construction machine near the limos, causing what appeared to be an explosion on the evacuation route. It was unclear if there was more danger near the limos.

There's lots more, and I am not the one to tell it. Bongino is. He has the source, the information first, and the insight into the inner workings of the agency that are unmatched by anybody covering the story.

Even if Bongino's political commentary has too much testosterone for your tastes, he is providing the goods. He has become a daily listen this past week for me, and should be for you too if you want to know the inside scoop.
