Since at least 2015 there is pretty much nothing we read in the mainstream media about politics that is unquestionably true.
That's not to say that nothing true has been printed. You could produce reams of stories in which the basic facts are defensibly true, although you could probably produce many more reams in which many, most, or all of the facts were lies.
It's just that almost everything written about politics, medicine, public health, the border, Israel, and so many other major issues are driven by narratives completely unrelated to what is really going on. From the Steele Dossier to "safe and effective," everything we are fed by the mainstream media is built on some hoax or another.
January 6th, for instance, was not an insurrection. Not one person can provide a reasonable scenario in which a riot at the Capitol building would result in Donald Trump remaining president. Forget all the other obvious flaws to the theory. Just provide a scenario in which the rioters getting into the building could, under ANY conceivable circumstances, result in the replacement of our government or the peaceful transfer of power.
I am waiting and will wait forever. As Scott Adams has said many times, you don't overthrow a government by delaying the filing of paperwork at a ceremony. And that is the most the riot could accomplish.
The public health response to COVID was based on countless hoaxes. Closing schools accomplished nothing other than creating a massive mental health crisis in children and educational losses that will never be made up.
The vaccine, at least for most people, presented more risks than possible rewards. It only benefits very old people and those with immune deficits.
The Hunter Biden laptop? Enough said. Impeachments 1 & 2? Hoaxes. The lawfare against Trump? Hoaxes.
The "fine people" hoax, the "bloodbath" hoax, and now the Project 2025 hoax.
It's hoaxes all the way down.
Now, in the span of 8 days, we are faced with two extraordinary events that on their face are so shocking and unlikely that you have to wonder what the real facts are.
The assassination attempt on Donald Trump was the result of such massive incompetence, so many oversights, and such implausible coincidences that any sane person would wonder how it could happen. That so many people think that it was the result not of gross negligence, not even of depraved indifference to the safety of the president and his supporters, but of an actual plan is hardly surprising.
I doubt that the Secret Service was "in on it," because that is almost unthinkable, but you can't blame people for wondering. There is only so much incompetence you can believe.
This video was taken from one of the windows the Secret Service had access to, overlooking the entire roof.

As you can see, they had complete coverage.
Makes you wonder how on earth they allowed the shooter to access the roof, let alone crawl up it & fire several shots. pic.twitter.com/C1GTUAuPEa
Now, the Director of the Secret Service is stonewalling Congress, and that is not just a bad look but conspiracy theory bait. She is obviously covering something up; we just don't know what. I suspect it is just gross negligence--denying resources to the president or some other bureaucratic negligence. But can you blame people for having darker thoughts?
Cheatle is feeding conspiracy theories, not dispelling them. She deserves whatever opprobrium is thrown at her. Who is she protecting? Mayorkas? The president? It sure isn't herself. She is getting flayed alive in Congress. Is there a quid pro quo?

Extraordinary event #2 is President Biden's impersonal withdrawal from the race. In all his public appearances, he insisted he was remaining in the race, and all the back room stories pretty much confirmed this. His campaign was canvassing delegates WHILE HE WAS ANNOUNCING HIS WITHDRAWAL, and almost all his aides learned from Twitter that he was dropping out.
The 24 year-old social media intern pretending to be Joe Biden isn’t the proof of life the nation demands.
— Kevin Dalton (@TheKevinDalton) July 22, 2024
He announced his withdrawal with a letter, and has not been seen for days. We are at the point where people are asking for "proof of life," and that is amazing. We do get a short letter from his physician. How comforting.
The crisis of institutional trust in America is fueled by things like this. https://t.co/ZoMxciaCVO

Nobody is sure that the president is even alive because we haven't seen him. It's bizarre. We haven't seen Jill either. The only Biden we have actually heard from is Joe's brother Frank, who said Biden's health was a factor in his leaving and implied he had a terminal illness. He was viciously attacked by Biden's aides.
Joe Biden was reportedly last seen in public on July 17.

That's when he was "diagnosed with Covid" and was told to self-isolate in Delaware for a week.
It was also days after the Trump shooting.
America demands to know: WHERE IS JOE? pic.twitter.com/Ax4HYaNcm3
Is it insane to wonder where the President of the United States is, especially when official sources claim he is well and doing his job? No.
Matt Taibbi even has a livestream later today entitled "Is Joe Biden Still Alive?"
Yes, in a normal country. But we live in a country where hoaxes are normalized by the government and the MSM. They have wasted every bit of trust they might have, so we want proof of life. We want to see the president.
And, in any normal world, we would have. We would have seen a photograph of the historic event. Instead, we get tweets and a one-pager from a doctor. Beege wrote a great piece on how insane this all is.
Do I think President Biden is dead, or that he is being held in his house until Harris is firmly ensconced as the presumptive nominee? Not really. Go to Twitter/X and search for "proof of life" and you will find countless tweets of people who do, and I don't blame them. I think there is a chance they might be right, and I try to be super skeptical of conspiracy theories.
But these days? A conspiracy theorist is somebody who was right too early.
But who could blame anybody for asking? How implausible, given recent events, would it be to have others put out Biden's statements without explicit approval of the president given what we know? None of us really believes he is in full control of his administration, anyway.
So here we are. Because our politics have been perverted by left-wing hoaxes and mainstream media complicity, many of us are led to the darkest questions in dark times. Who is in charge? Are they plotting against the current, the former, and the future president? What are they hiding? Who is "they?"
This is insane.
I blame the mainstream media even more than the Democrats. They are costing us our country and our sanity.
