The 'Two State' Solution Is Insane

I was a member of the "Two State" solution club. It seemed so obvious, at least back in the day when I was formally studying the Middle East in the 80s and 90s.

For those of you who don't get the reference, it refers to the proposal to create a Palestinian state in Gaza and the West Bank alongside Israel. The idea is that in exchange for formal recognition of Palestine as a separate state, the Palestinians will give up violence and coexist alongside Israel.

Sure, it would require Palestinians to become civilized human beings instead of biological reservoirs of hate, but plenty of Palestinians are civilized, and there is no genetic reason that the rest can't be. They are human beings, after all. Look at what happened post-WWII in Germany and Japan. People can reform themselves.

Alas, it is not to be because generations of Palestinians in the formerly occupied territories (both are self-governing now, and that has been a disaster) have been trained to be hateful bigots whom even the other Arab countries disdain. You will notice that none of these countries is interested in taking in Palestinian refugees because they are nothing but trouble.

That's why Joe Biden is apparently offering America as a sanctuary for some of the most murderous people in the world, continuing his unbroken streak of being always disastrously wrong on every issue.

Palestinians have been given many offers to formally establish a state, and for years, they have been de facto states—states in all but names. The Palestinian Authority--run by corrupt kleptocrats--rules in the West Bank and Hamas in Gaza. They can't even get along with each other, no less the rest of the world. The Palestinians reject all offers because they want it all--and the protesters on our campuses agree with them.

Unfortunately, dropping the two-state solution leaves us with no good options. No Arab state wants anything to do with the Palestinians; they all want peace and trade with Israel, and even in the midst of this crisis, Saudi Arabia is preparing to drop its (now nominal) hostilities with the Jewish state and get down to business, which is modernization.

Iran, which is not an Arab country but Persian, is one of the last holdouts. Allied with Syria and Yemen, of all places, they too are a reservoir of hate, although the average Iranian is not happy about that. The Mullahs rule with an iron fist over an unhappy population, retaining power through a reign of terror. Karen writes about Iran frequently, and you should follow her work.

The path forward is shrouded in mist, but it must include booting the corrupt UNRWA, which spreads hatred and allies with Hamas, and a systematic dismantling of the current "governments" in these territories and formal rule by something similar to the old mandate system--people from the outside establishing order where there is none.

That will mean foreign troops on the ground, and that is a disaster in the making as well. Who wants to be surrounded by savages bent on murdering anybody who impedes their desire to kill others?

Unfortunately, we can't treat human beings the way we treat rabid dogs. There are children and some innocents among the vast majority of Palestinians who support terror as a weapon.

Perhaps we can draft some of the protesters to help police the territories. Even if the territories collapsed, at least it would be a good education for all the Queer transgender pansexual porno pushers.

More seriously, I don't see the way out. There is no ethical way that I can see to deal with the problem. There ARE innocents there, and children are being born there every day. We can't bomb them out of existence and thus are forced to hunt for the violent terrorists while sparing the rest.

But the vast majority of the innocents are hateful themselves, as demonstrated by their support for terrorism. We can't just kill them for being hateful, but we can't let them create new terrorists either.

One would have thought, without actually seeing how long hatred can persist, that the fire would burn out. Alas, it shows no sign of doing so even after the better part of a century.

But one thing is clear: there is no way to allow anything close to statehood for the current crop of Palestinians. It is insane to think that there is.

Every bit of aid, legitimacy, and resources that enter the West Bank and Gaza will eventually be turned on the Israelis.

Suggestions? I'm all out of them.
