Sex Trafficking of Minors? No Big Deal Says California Senate

State Senator Scott Weiner of California has a soft spot for sexual deviants.

Especially so for deviants who engage in selling sex. He sponsored a law that turned California residential streets into prostitution zones, and he just amended a bill targeted at the trafficking of minors for prostitution to make it easier on sex offenders to get off without much punishment.

Democrats keep telling us that sex trafficking is a myth, while at the same time making it easier and easier to commit. Open borders have led to dramatic increases in "unaccompanied children" crossing the border. The federal government flies them around the country and then loses track of tens of thousands of kids.

Weiner is a fan of that sort of thing. He helped block a bill to make trafficking of minors a serious crime last year, and his record is so outrageous that I labeled him the most dangerous legislator in the country

Abigail Shrier wrote an excellent piece on Weiner's campaign to exploit children and legalize the sex trade. Let me quote a small bit of it.

But if some of Wiener’s bills seek to protect LGBTQ youth, they also represent a golden opportunity for a different group: adults who would take advantage of them. Wiener “is an extremely dangerous person, [so] extremely dangerous that I cannot believe that people cannot read in between the lines,” said Marisa Ugarte, who runs the anti-trafficking nonprofit, Bilateral Safety Corridor Coalition, based in National City, just south of San Diego. Wiener is turning California, she warned, into “a sex-trafficking paradise.”

Whatever the intent behind many of his bills, this does seem to be their effect: to make life better for sexual predators. Consider the Wiener-authored SB 145, a 2020 measure that amended the sex-offender registration laws in California, so that an adult having anal or oral sex with a minor could avoid getting placed on the sex-offender registry, as long as the child was at least 14 and the adult was no more than a decade older.

Weiner is at it again this year, again defending sex offenders who are exploiting children. He has all sorts of bogus excuses--he claims he wants to avoid any sad Romeo and Juliet situations--but the bottom line is that his colleagues want to protect children from having their bodies sold (the law only applies to people paying for sex with children) and Weiner wants it to be easier to exploit kids for sex

Grove's original bill would have toughened the punishment for child trafficking and increased it from a misdemeanor charge to a felony, carrying a maximum penalty of four years in prison and a $25,000 fine. Unlike current law, the penalties would apply regardless of whether the adult was aware of the child's age.

It would also require the perpetrator to register as a sex offender, but Democrats opposed that provision.

Public safety committee Democrats worried the bill was "overly broad" and would criminalize young adults who are in consensual relationships with minors. Under current sex offender laws that have been on the books in California for decades, judges decide whether an adult, no more than 10 years older than a minor between the ages of 14 and 17, should be placed on the sex offender registry if they are engaging in sexual intercourse.

"This is not consensual, this is commercial sex," Grove told Fox News Digital Wednesday. "And, again, the Democratic committee consultant was conflating those issues, and I kept trying to explain to them this is not consensual sex. This is commercial sex purchase.

"My bill goes after the buyer for engaging in that process."

That is not a Romeo and Juliet star-crossed lovers two years apart. It is an adult purchasing the services of a sex-trafficked child, and Weiner wants it to go basically unpunished. .

The current law for soliciting a child for sex carries a $10,000 fine and two days to a year in a county jail.

As I have argued many times before, the ultimate goal is to sexualize children and legalize--or at least decriminalize--pedophilia.

That goal is so horrific that most Americans assume that we are exaggerating; unfortunately, we are not. If you had told anybody a decade ago that the culture would be celebrating pornography in schools and sterilizing children they would have laughed at the conspiracy theory.

Well here we are.

Pedophilia is being normalized, as is "sex work" for children. It is considered liberation by the Left, and it is coming to a state near you.
