Here's a head-scratcher of a question: should a school host a fundraiser in which the students have a competition to kiss, lick, and suck on the toes of their fellow students or, perhaps, their teachers'?

This weekend, the question was debated endlessly, spurred on by this video:

There was hardly a consensus. Some saw this as harmless fun, while others saw it in the context of the current wave of sexualized content being thrust at students in their schools. There is also a debate about whether the students were performing their oral services on fellow students--which is what the school claims--or adults, as elements of the video seem to indicate. 

The evidence is piling up that the event included student-on-student toe-sucking, although I am not certain that makes things A-OK.

The event in question was part of a week-long fundraising drive for a genuinely great charity, Not Your Average Joe Coffee, an organization created to 'inspire our community by including students and adults with intellectual, developmental and physical disabilities.'  And, indeed, the week-long fundraiser was a rousing success, raising $153,000. 

But did it need to include toe-sucking in order to be successful? It seems doubtful. Some students and parents were not amused at all, and neither was Oklahoma's Superintendent of Education. 

Deer Creek is no stranger to controversy. Recently, a female teacher had to resign after sexting a student, a coach resigned after a training exercise hurt several students, and an elementary school teacher resigned for distributing medicine to students without authorization. 

While I can understand why some people might see this as a harmless if disgusting exercise along the lines of a fraternity prank--although these were younger kids, as you can see in the video--it can also be viewed, as I do, through the lens of the constant sexualization of children in the public schools. These same children are being indoctrinated in an alphabet ideology that thrusts pornographic material at them daily, in schools plastered with LGBTQ+ flags, and have teachers announcing their sexual preferences to their students. 

Was this particular exercise merely disgusting, or something more? Conservatives online have weighed in, all quite angry. I was outraged myself. 

But I admit to being too close to the issue and too sensitized to the sexualization of children in schools to feel confident, in my opinion. And having opinions is my business. Go figure. 

Answering the question in the headline: do degenerates run our schools?, my answer is "Yes." Was this an example of that? I think so, but I don't have kids in high school and am something of a prude in my old age. If the people whose toes were sucked were adults, then I would hang them. If this is kids...

You decide for yourself. I think so, but I come to this with such a strong bias that I can't be confident in my judgment.
