Stating the Obvious 4 Years Late

I actually snorted with derision when I saw this headline.

Really? What clued you in?

I have been involved in pandemic-related activism since the second month of its bursting on the scene. I was OK with the initial "15 Days to Slow the Spread" because I figured that the government officials needed some time to get their heads around a crisis that none of them had faced before.

When they announced an extension of the lockdown, and I began to see the tyrannical methods being used against ordinary citizens, I cried foul, and helped found an informal group called "Reopen Minnesota." Facebook throttled our work, we were attacked relentlessly, and the media tried to ignore us. I drifted away from it as, frankly, I got angrier and angrier to the point that my mental health suffered.

Others picked up the baton, and nobody listened for the most part. Ordinary people didn't have opinions that mattered. Only the "experts" were allowed to have opinions, and they were given control over our lives.

From the start, policies were driven by lies. At first, I thought they were good-faith mistakes, and likely many were. But it became crystal clear within a month or two that we were being gaslit and that the pandemic was a godsend for the technocratic elite. Whether or not a single illegal vote was cast or counted (and come on, we know that many were), the election was rigged by an elite who rigged the rules, violated countless laws, and manipulated the news to their own advantage.

People like me and you were vilified.

One of the biggest lies told during the pandemic had nothing to do with the election rigging, the mandates, or the tyrannical rules imposed on us. The statistics were jiggered, the dangers misrepresented, and the teachers' union was given the keys to the kingdom all based on lies.

But the biggest was about the origins of COVID-19, because that lie made everything else possible. If the public knew the pandemic was man-made and its development was funded by the United States government at the behest of Saint Fauci, the entire COVID-19 tyranny would have collapsed.

You can't have the author of the crisis credibly lead the effort to contain it.

So Fauci the Devil was turned into Fauci the Saint. He was valorized, turned into, believe it or not, a style icon, and became the embodiment of Science™.

I figured out that COVID-19 was created at the Wuhan Institute of Virology very quickly, not because I am a genius, but because I could read. Very early on it was obvious that the powers that be were obsessed with disputing this fact loudly and often, which is not how science is done. People who uttered the mildest suggestions that the virus was engineered were vilified, and the issue became hyperpoliticized almost instantly.

That was a red flag but not proof. But over the months, the proof piled up. The Proximal Origins paper that Fauci commissioned and promoted was shown to be fraudulent--the authors were proven to be liars, and grant records showed they were paid off by Fauci with millions of dollars.

I and others have written about this over the years--not days, weeks, or months. For YEARS.

And on February 29th, 2024, The New York Post wrote a story titled "Scientists May Have Started the COVID Pandemic."

COVID-19 may have been created in a Chinese lab, a British professor told the UN Wednesday, with another expert claiming that evidence of the likelihood has reached “the level of a smoking gun.”

Richard H. Ebright, a molecular biologist at Rutgers University, was quoted saying in a new Wall Street Journal article that the virus that killed millions around the world may actually have been manmade in China’s Wuhan Institute of Virology.

He cited evidence found in a 2018 document from the lab that talked of making such a virus.

“[The document] elevates the evidence provided by the genome sequence from the level of noteworthy to the level of a smoking gun,” Ebright said in the piece by former New York Times editor Nicholas Wade.

The papers from the lab cited by Ebright contained drafts and notes regarding a grant proposal called Project DEFUSE, which sought to test engineering bat coronaviruses in a way that would make them more easily transmissible to humans.

Guess what? I wrote about precisely this issue in June of last year. I didn't discover the evidence on a trip to China or through FOIA requests. I simple did a lot of reading and put the pieces together, as have many others. All it took was curiosity and intellectual integrity, as well as a healthy skepticism of what we were being told.

By the way, any sane person by now doesn't suspect COVID was engineered; we know that it was, in the same way that we know almost anything, by using knowledge and logic. As with any crime where there is no photographic or DNA evidence, we use a reasonable doubt standard, and there is no reasonable doubt in my mind. I would throw somebody in jail with less evidence, and I would be a very skeptical juror in a case that was a tough call.

This happened. We even have a description in a grant proposal describing the process of engineering the virus that became COVID-19

In the four years since the SARS-CoV-2 virus was unleashed on the world, data have steadily accumulated supporting the hypothesis that it emerged from a laboratory. The latest information, released last month, makes a formidable case that the virus is the product of laboratory synthesis, not of nature.

This startling fact will probably take some time to sink into the national consciousness, given the mainstream media’s sustained inability to report the issue objectively. Editors have failed to think beyond the extreme politicization that requires liberals to oppose the lab-leak hypothesis. Science journalists are too beholden to their sources to suspect that virologists would lie to them about the extent of their profession’s responsibility for a catastrophic pandemic.

Here are some salient facts that haven’t been clearly reported to readers of the mainstream press:

In March 2018 a team of American and Chinese virologists applied to the Pentagon’s Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency, known as Darpa, seeking a $14 million grant to manipulate viruses related to SARS-CoV-1, the bat virus that caused a minor epidemic in 2002. Their goal was to identify bat viruses in Asia with the highest potential for jumping to people and to immunize bats so they wouldn’t infect soldiers in the region.

The proposal for Project DEFUSE specified that the viruses’ infectivity would be enhanced by inserting into them a genetic element known as a furin cleavage site. Depending on the starting viruses, this protocol could have produced SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes Covid-19, which has a distinctive furin cleavage site.

In 2022 three biologists, Valentin Bruttel, Alex Washburne and Antonius VanDongen, guessed that if SARS-CoV-2 had been generated in a lab by a standard method, it would have been assembled from six sections of lab-synthesized DNA with the help of a biological agent called BsmBI. On analyzing the virus’s structure, they found evidence for the seams between sections and other distinctive marks of the assembly process.

There are a lot of reasons why this matters, of course, and you can parse them out easily enough.

But the biggest is this: the entire COVID-19 regime of tyranny could not have been imposed if its architects were revealed to be the authors of the pandemic. We would have been throwing them in jail, not handing the keys of the entire country into their hands.

Fauci and company caused every bad thing that happened over the past four years. The virus itself. The policies. The learning loss. People dying alone. The mental health crisis.

Every single bit of it was caused by Tony Fauci. The biggest mass murderer since Mao.

The entire establishment circled the wagons around Fauci and used the millions of deaths for their own gain, politically and economically. They seized powers that are unprecedented in American history and are looking to build on the record to expand those powers further.

Am I happy that The New York Post and The Wall Street Journal are sorta/kinda saying that all this was engineered?

Sure, it's better than nothing. But where have they been? Independent journalists have been publishing this stuff for years. Literally years.

YEARS. And if we had been listened to so much harm could have been avoided.

One last thing: This is a VIP article solely because Big Tech censors posts on COVID from Hot Air and other conservative sites. We get demonetized, our search traffic drops and the algorithms suppress the content. I wish we didn't require a paywall, but we do because the Establishment wants us out of business.

So THANK YOU for signing up to VIP. It keeps us in business and writing. Someday, I hope, we can talk freely. That day is not now.
