The homicide rate in Venezuela has dropped like a rock.
The numbers are shocking, actually, in how high they remain and how much they have fallen. More than a 25% drop in about a year, according to the Venezuela Violence Observatory. Suicides are up, though, which isn't such good news.
Venezuela has its lowest homicide rate in 22 years because their gangs are coming here.

The explanation for this sudden drop in the murder rate doesn't require a great deal of research. All you need to do is read the news and you will see story after story about Venezuelan illegal immigrants committing crimes in the United States.
(Bloomberg) -- Venezuela’s rate of violent deaths dropped to its lowest level in more than two decades following years of massive migration as both criminals and victims fled the nation’s economic crisis.
The Venezuelan Violence Observatory registered 26.8 violent deaths per 100,000 inhabitants this year from a rate of 35.3 for every 100,000 habitants in 2022, Roberto Briceño León, director of the Observatory, said in a webcast Thursday. That’s its lowest since 2001 and is one-third of what it was in 2016, he added.
Young people, who have traditionally been the main victims of violence, have fled, while criminals and gangs have emigrated due to the lack of opportunities to commit crimes, according to Briceño León.
Call me crazy, but I strongly suspect that one statistic is causally related to the other, as the Venezuelan Violence Observatory noted.

In 2022, I led a letter to Secretary Mayorkas regarding a report about Venezuela releasing criminals from prison early and pushing them to head to the US.

I was right in sending this letter.
In the past week alone, we've seen the tragic consequences of releasing Venezuelan… pic.twitter.com/NEqzY9OedE
Before you get upset at Congressman Nehls for sending a strongly-worded letter to Mayorkas, ask yourself this: what else could he have done? As frustrated as you are at the apparent fecklessness of Republicans in Congress, the reality is that their options are...not much.
Blame Biden because this is exactly what he has been working to do. I am happy to criticize Republicans for their failures, but there is no magic bullet with Democrats in charge. Even when Trump was in office, Democrats were able to stymie him despite a full-court press.
Biden posted 27 times about George Floyd yet he hasn't said a word about Laken Riley.

The media has referred to her killer as a 'Georgia man', when in fact he's an illegal alien from Venezuela.
They exploit tragedies to use for their benefit and bury the rest. pic.twitter.com/7UCh8Heom5
Democrats keep talking about Republicans "pouncing" or "seizing" on the crime wave sweeping the nation caused by the Democrats' immigration policies, but even with all the cover the MSM gives Biden and Mayorkas the reality has been sinking in that Democrats have invited not the world's best into our country, but some of the worst.

There is no pouncing needed; Republicans need to pound the podium because the MSM and the Democrats aren't doing their job.

My father-in-law is an immigrant from Venezuela, and he came here following the rules. He spent his life as an engineer helping build our country, and he is now spending his sunset years watching it be destroyed by the Left.
It's infuriating.
Venezuela dumping its violent criminals over the US border is a genuine national security emergency situation. https://t.co/o0aKV8R9Rj

Jesse Watters: "As migrant crime in America skyrockets, crime in Venezuela has fallen to a 22-year low. Why? Because they're sending their criminals here...We're being murdered. Our own media's covering it up, and our government is sanctioning it." pic.twitter.com/h2KqLRCFqH
