High School B-Ball Game Canceled After Students Start Hurling Antisemitic Slurs

Antisemitism is being normalized. And there is no question in my mind that it is highly correlated with the spread of DEI/anticolonialism/grievance culture.

The latest example, of which there are too many to count, is this high school basketball game having to be canceled due to physical aggression and the shouting of pro-Hamas and antisemitic slurs by public school students aimed at students at a private Jewish school.

From the beginning of the game, racial animus was at the root of the hostility.

This was flagrant and foul.

A high school girls’ basketball game in Yonkers was canceled this week when players on the home team shot antisemitic slurs at their Jewish opponents, who needed security guards to escort them off the court to safety.

The girl’s varsity teams from The Leffell School, a private Jewish school in Hartsdale, and Roosevelt High School, a public school in Yonkers, faced off in the non-league game Thursday evening.

I support Hamas, you f–king Jew,” a Roosevelt player snarled at a Leffell opponent, according to The New York City Public Schools Alliance, a group of parents and teachers fighting antisemitism.

From the outset, there was hostility and aggression with “substantially more jabs and comments thrown at the players on our team than what I have experienced in the past,” senior player Robin Bosworth wrote in an op-ed for Leffell’s student-run newspaper, The Lion’s Roar.

The game was played into the 3rd quarter, but the antisemitic taunts escalated and the play got too rough to go on, so the game was called. Roosevelt High School, the public school, forfeited the game.

About an hour into the game, a timeout was called, livestream footage shows, though no audio is heard. The Leffell players and Tessitore appear exasperated and he consults with the referees and the other team’s coach.

The Roosevelt players are seen gathering and appear to exchange words from afar with the Leffell players. Security steps in between both teams and the refs make an announcement before both teams suddenly exchange handshakes and security escorts them off the court.

Roosevelt High School agreed to a voluntary forfeit, according to a spokesman for the Yonkers district.

You know it must have been bad if the Roosevelt coach agreed to forfeit the game.

There is nothing particularly shocking about kids acting like jerks, especially when public school kids are playing sports against private school students. What is shocking is this particular manifestation–the casual way in which students have embraced the most vile stereotypes and that they feel free to shout them out in front of the world.

Imagine the uproar if some white students had shouted the N-word at a Black student.

It must be the case that supporting Hamas and hating Jews is socially acceptable in their world. Jews are “settler colonialists,” who are the worst people in the world according to the DEI agenda.

It would be shocking to find out that their school didn’t push CRT, DEI, and the toxic brew of ideologies that are now so common in our educational settings.

You know they teach it, and you see the results.
