Just 'Raising Questions'

House Speaker Mike Johnson is not exactly beloved by the intelligentsia or the midwits who populate the MSM.

He is, in fact, hated by them.

Why? He is pretty normal, well-liked, and a deeply religious Christian. He is currently Speaker of the House mainly because he is one of the few people most people like in Washington. As a Republican, his being well-liked is a strike against him if your job is to demonize the right.

Among Mike’s many sins is that he adopted a Black son–a 14-year-old boy who needed a home. He did this long before he became a politician, and there was no conceivable benefit to him or his career. He did it because he is a good man.

For this, he must be crucified.

So Newsweek wrote a story using his son’s not appearing in Johnson’s Christmas photo posted on Twitter/X. It was a good hook–one that could be used to emphasize what a neanderthal Johnson is. (The MSM did the same thing with two of Johnson’s other children; one was a story about a father-daughter dance that was portrayed as creepy and another about how he and one of his sons avoid online pornography).

How did the story begin?

House Speaker Mike Johnson‘s Christmas photo sparks questions as people on social media noticed that one of his sons was missing.

Johnson, a conservative Republican from Louisiana, has long promoted Christian family values. He expressed anti-LGBTQ views when he worked for the Alliance Defending Freedom (ADF) in the early 2000s and has co-sponsored several anti-abortion bills since he was elected to Congress in 2016.

The congressman posted a photo on X, formerly Twitter, on Monday of him and his family and said, “Merry Christmas and many blessing from our family to you and yours.”

The photo included Johnson, his wife Kelly, and his four biological children, which prompted people to ask where Johnson’s adopted adult Black son, Michael, was.

“People” were concerned. By the way, did you know that Johnson is a Christian bigot? And he is ashamed of his Black son.

That, of course, was the implication. All wrapped up in the first four paragraphs of the story.

Masterful. Hit all the political erogenous zones for liberals. Even the reference to Louisiana will set off a large number of liberals who hate the Deep South with a passion.

So why wasn’t Michael in the photo? Was it shame? Racism? Not wanting to offend those rednecks in Louisiana?

Nope. Something much simpler and more innocent. Michael wants to avoid politics, and Johnson respects his wishes. Newsweek buried this little tidbit deep into the story after recounting all the people (a few idiots on Twitter) criticizing Johnson.

“When Speaker Johnson first ran for Congress in 2016, he and his wife, Kelly, spoke to their son Michael—who they took in as newlyweds when Michael was 14 years old,” Corinne Day, communications director for Johnson, told Newsweek in October.

“At the time of the Speaker’s election to Congress, Michael was an adult with a family of his own. He asked not to be involved in their new public life. The Speaker has respected that sentiment throughout his career and maintains a close relationship with Michael to this day.”

Michael later praised his family in a Daily Mail interview for making him feel “loved like I was a part of their family,” while adding that he thanks “God all the time for giving them both the strength, patience, and unwavering faith that inspired me to do better and be better.”

In other words, Johnson is what we all know him to be: a good father and man.

Perhaps such people are so rare in Washington that it freaks out the reporters, who firmly believe that if you haven’t taken a few trips to Epstein Island, sniffed a bunch of cocaine, and taken some bribes from China, you must be a weirdo.

He doesn’t even watch pornography, for God’s sake! Something is deeply wrong with him!

The MSM really is trash.
