In my next slot, I have a post arguing that barbarism is sweeping the West, but I want to put a special focus on this one instance that proves my point.
In the once beautiful city of San Francisco–a place I long ago thought would be a great place to live–a man has been living across from a school for over a year. In a tent.
He is a child molester. A convicted child molester. He has also assaulted parents of children in the school across the street.
San Francisco judge just lowered the bail for the sex offender who camped in front of a school offering free fentanyl
Judge Vedia Puri reduced Moore’s bail from $35k to just $10k

Now this child rapist has been able to live across the street from a school but finally got in trouble when he put up a sign offering free fentanyl.
Why that would be the case is beyond me. Maybe the Mayor of the city thinks he should have charged for it or something. Obviously the availability of fentanyl is hardly something the city cares about. But in a city filled with communist millionaires and billionaires, they were offended he wasn’t trying to make a buck or something.
Child molesting? No problem. Giving away a drug that is unfortunately everywhere? Let’s have a talk!
A convicted sex offender who displayed a sign saying “free fentanyl for new users” at his encampment across from a Catholic grade school in San Francisco was taken into custody on Thursday as his “public nuisance” case moves forward.
San Francisco District Attorney Brooke Jenkins told the ABC7 News I-Team’s Dan Noyes, “We believe that he presented a public safety risk that necessitated him being in custody while this case is open.”
In San Francisco Superior Court, 46-year-old Joseph Adam Moore gave our camera an extended one-finger greeting. He’s facing charges of “Obstructing Free and Comfortable Use of Liberty and Property” or being a public nuisance.
The convicted child molester set up camp across the street from a Catholic grade school in the Richmond District more than a year ago and recently posted a sign “Free Fentanyl for New Users.”
Moore’s lawyer has a novel defense for his behavior: “free speech.” Which makes sense. It’s not like he claimed that there are only two genders or something really hateful. He was just offering to get people hooked on fentanyl. “Free fentanyl for new users.”
“And this guy is annoying, because he moves around this particular area a lot,” Erica Franklin said. “And he’s annoyed quite a few people. And I feel like because of that reason, because it’s sort of an isolated area of San Francisco, that he’s being treated differently.”
Annoying?
That Moore is being held in custody at all is something of a miracle in San Francisco, so I suppose the residents of the city and the parents of the children should thank God for small favors.
That a judge would reduce his bail is mystifying though, except when you realize that this is indeed San Francisco, where being a criminal is a free pass to commit almost any crime, and being a child rapist doesn’t disqualify you from living in a tent across from a school.
Societies usually have active immune systems that reject infections like this. We lock people up for raping children. We find ways to keep them away from children.
Not in San Francisco, or in too many places in America.
