That, my friends, is the World Health Organization at work. Gaza, it turns out, was a utopia filled with teddy bears and balloons. Bright colors, parks, and middle-class families in cars happily living their lives until the mean Israelis came along to destroy it for no good reason.

The children were happy. Now they are crying. All because of the Jews. Those mean, nasty Joos.

No words. I have no words.

Actually, I better come up with some words, because this is Hot Air and they pay me to write. But you get the idea.

As with so many things that are transnational, the World Health Organization has a patina of cosmopolitanism and beneficence. “World” suggests concern for all of humanity, not just some fraction of it held together by geography or ethnicity. “World” citizens are above all that minutiae.  “Health.” Who could be against health? By its very nature, it is a good thing! And “organization” means that it can do things, not just mouthing platitudes.

What’s not to love?

Well, just about everything. The World Health Organization is a political organization, headed by a terrorist-linked corrupt despot, and it helped orchestrate the COVID tyranny that ruined so many lives over the past 3 years. It collaborated with China to hide the origins of COVID, pushed lockdowns, and now is trying to push through a pandemic treaty that would subject countries to its dictates when a pandemic is declared.

It is simply awful.

Consider, for a moment, the elected president of WHO, Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus. He is an Ethiopian and was the Minister of Foreign Affairs for the country until moving over to work for the UN at WHO.

How did he wind up being the Minister of Foreign Affairs? He was a member of the Tigray People’s Liberation Front, which along with the Eritrean People’s Liberation Front, overthrew the Ethiopian government in the 90s. Now the old Ethiopian government was no peach, but these “liberation fronts” were terroristic communist groups that were also ethnonationalists. In other words, these are racialist communists who used terrorism and violence to get their way.

This, my friend, is the man who runs the WHO. And it’s no surprise that he was elected to lead the WHO because the United Nations is the same organization that just had Iran, of all countries, chair a forum on human rights.

Iran. Human rights. Geez.

For liberal internationalists, the concept of the United Nations is wonderful enough–the aspirations, the peace!–to ignore the grubby details such as the fact that most countries in the world suck. Tinpot dictators run much of the world, and when you have an organization like the United Nations that, aside from some high-level security issues, is run “democratically” you put these dictators in charge.

The results are what you would expect. “Diverse” people doing “diverse” things like attacking Israel all the time.

In 2022 the UN Human Rights Council condemned Israel more times than every other country in the world combined.

Combined.

No matter what you think of Israel, do you think it warrants more condemnation than everybody else in the world combined? Think about what happened in Iran during that same year, and tell me that it should skate while Israel gets hammered.

This is the reality of the United Nations, and the WHO is just as corrupt and evil as the organization as a whole. Yet it is treated like a benign authority that should control our lives.

It is insane. We live in an insane world.

Well, WHO, out of that teddy bears, balloons, and unicorns utopia of Gaza rockets have been raining down on Israel for years–so much so that Israel has had to create the most sophisticated air defenses in the world just to survive. Out of that teddy bears and unicorns world comes terrorists who swear to massacre every Israeli, and promise 10/7s as far as the eye can see.

How is that for “health?” Or does the health of Jews not matter?

I think we all know the answer. For terrorist WHO Director Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus the answer is: no, Israelis don’t matter a bit.
