You have to hand it to him. Mayor Adams pulled no punches last night speaking at (what I believe to be) a town hall.
Adams was responding to a question about the flood of illegal migrants into the city, and he went on an impassioned rant. Here is just a taste before you watch the video:
Let me tell you something New Yorkers. Never in my life have I ever had a problem that I did not see an ending to.
I don’t see an ending to this. I don’t see an ending to this.
This issue will destroy New York City. Destroy New York City.

I think I can speak for all of us when I say: “Welcome to the party pal.”
The Democrats have treated the illegal immigration issue as a purely political one–a bludgeon they can use against Democrats to unite the minority coalition they depend on for votes.
Their pitch is: “Republicans oppose illegal immigration because they are racists who hate all black and brown people. There is no other reason to do so. Illegal immigration is not a problem; in fact, it makes our country better.”
Democrats could argue that because illegal immigration has been a problem mostly for Red states.
Well, illegal immigration is not a border-state problem anymore, and Adams has changed his tune more than a bit. Not enough to do any good. But at least he is speaking up–a bit.
I don’t revel in the fact that New York City has joined the list of places suffering from the flood of illegals that Joe Biden has invited to invade the United States. I truly wish there was no problem at all.
The Democrats caused the problem because they are vicious and will do anything to harm Republicans and increase their own power–which is why Biden opened the border in the first place. Biden opened the borders and Democrats supported his policies because they firmly believed it would increase their power and harm the Red States. The only reason the border is open is because Democrats believe that it will them in elections.
I don’t cry for Adams or any of the mayors of the Blue Cities, but I do still have sympathy for the average citizens who are suffering due to their leaders’ craven politicization of the issue. And these citizens voted for the “sanctuary city” policies, so they should act like they meant it.
Democrats will cry that this problem exists in New York and other Blue areas solely due to the cruelty of Republicans who have bussed illegals to their cities. That ignores the obvious fact that the Red states have been bearing the burden almost exclusively and have done so due to Biden’s policies. What is the moral argument that Texas, Florida, and Arizona should accept and pay to house millions of illegal immigrants because New York voters want them to?
More than 8 million illegal immigrants have entered the United States since Biden became president. Where did Adams and the sanctuary Democrats think they would go, and who did they think would pay for the burden?
If they don’t like it, tell Biden. He is the one responsible. And maybe quit bragging about being a sanctuary–after all, the Blue sanctuary cities literally ASKED for this as a virtue-signalling move.
If Adams truly believes that illegal immigration is destroying New York City, he should run against Joe Biden or at least campaign against him. Barring that he is just whining.
But no, Adams and all the Democrats in New York City would still today chant about how cruel Trump was and how racist Republicans are, and they will dutifully vote for the very policies that are destroying what they claim to love.
I do believe Adams both cares about New York City deeply and is sincere in his belief that his city is being destroyed.
But I also see no indication at all that he will truly stand up for the citizens of New York and actively campaign to get the policies causing these problems to be changed. He will simply demand more money and then vote for Joe Biden to continue ruining his city, his state, and the United States of America.
He may love New York, but he loves the Democrat Party even more.
Pathetic.
