Toronto Blue Jays pitcher apologizes for offending alphabet crowd

There is only one approved line of thinking in the West, and you know exactly what it is.

Blue Jay pitcher Anthony Bass, who apparently is a conservative Christian, made the serious mistake of siding against the alphabet people in the brand wars. He cut a video siding with the people who are boycotting Target and Bud Light, and apostasy on this issue is apparently not allowed.

A pitcher with the Toronto Blue Jays has apologized for sharing a video endorsing an anti-LGBTQ boycott of brands such as Target and Bud Light.

On Monday, Anthony Bass, a relief pitcher with the Jays, shared an Instagram reel from the account dudewithgoodnews that called on Christians to avoid these brands.

The original clip says, “Here’s the reason biblically why I believe Christians have gotta be boycotting Target, Bud Light, and any other corporation that’s pushing the things they’re pushing. I think a lot of people make this into a political issue, or they say, ‘Oh, what’s the big deal?'”

The clip later says: “This is evil, this is demonic, we won’t stand for it, we’re not going to go to the stores anymore and we’re not going to give you our money.”

Target recently said it was removing some LGBTQ merchandise from its stores in the U.S. and moving its Pride merchandise to the back in some stores in southern states following confrontations and a backlash by some shoppers in those areas.

As you all know, I too think that what these companies are doing qualifies as demonic, especially since Target actually hired a guy who embraced being called a demon. When your brand is associated with loving Satan, it’s pretty rich to complain about being labeled demonic.

Well apparently Major League Baseball wasn’t happy with Bass for being a conservative Christian with opinions, and they pressured him to recant.

Bass chose to do this, probably for reasons having to do with getting $750,000 dollars from the Blue Jays every year.

That is quite the incentive, and I really can’t criticize him for the decision he made. It’s not like he has other skills that are likely to feed his family at levels like that, and it’s ridiculous to criticize people for not being heroic. Heroes are heroes because they go above and beyond.

Still, the spectacle was grotesque, and his apology looked like a hostage video.

It must have been humiliating being forced to apologize to the team and then face the cameras to essentially recite a pathetic mea culpa. It sure looked humiliating, at least.

It is grotesque that the powers that be cannot abide people having opinions, and frankly Bass’ is one shared by tens of millions of normal people, and opposition to alphabet ideology is plurality or majority opinion.

It’s a bad look for all concerned. It looks like MLB is siding with alphabet people over Christians, which is an odd choice given the ratio of one to the other, and Bass looks whipped.

Worst of all, the alphabet crowd gets another scalp on their belt.
