Democrats have been saying such things for quite a while, of course, but they have been getting more and more explicit over the years.

Back when HRC said “It takes a village to raise a child” I never took that to mean, exactly, that the children are the exclusive property of the state. In fact, I think it was much more anodyne than that–surely there was a socialist component, but I think she mostly meant to convey that we live in a society where we should take responsibility for the well-being of our neighbors.

Maybe I have always been too generous to her on this, but I had so many reasons other than this to despise her that this one never rose to much higher than the level of a platitude.

But a lot has changed over the decades, and the Democrats have been doing more and more to separate children from their parents–to the point that schools and even state governments have taken to hiding important facts about their children from parents. Public school teachers rant about how they know better than parents what is good for them because they are “experts” with graduate degrees.

You can find thousands of similar videos scattered around the web, especially on TikTok. School teachers are now taught that they are moral experts superior to parents and should be given priority in moral and sexual education.

State after state are passing laws declaring themselves sanctuaries for parents who kidnap their children for ideological reasons. They are explicit about this–a non-custodial parent can violate another state’s court order and get “sanctuary” in a number of Blue states.

Washington has gone further. A child can show up at a shelter if their parent doesn’t support their gender transition and basically emancipate themselves immediately, and the state will even keep parents in the dark about the whole process.

They can do this because Leftists believe that children belong to the state and are not wards of their parents.

Not just a children's book, but an entire program funded by the NY Dept of Education to be blasted at 4-8yr old children through PBS.

This is all being pushed from the top. From the White House to the teachers’ colleges to the teachers’ unions to the public health establishment and on and on.

Children are now viewed as a malleable ideological target being groomed as the coming vanguard of the cultural Marxist revolution.

The socialization of parenting has been a goal of the Left for generations; it just never got much traction in the US until the past few years.

Now it has become a dominant ideology of the Elite, based upon their conviction that anybody to the right of Marx is a fascist.

Many Leftists are open about their hatred of parental rights, calling it fascist. Prominent magazines are publishing articles now pushing the idea.

This is the upending of the natural order, and that is exactly what it is intended to do. Society must be destroyed and rebuilt from the ground up. Human biology, family structure, and our economic order are the enemies of Leftism and must be crushed.

Joe Biden is simply stating what the Left believes: they aren’t your kids. They are ours.
