Drag Queen Story Hours are now a liberal ritual. Attending, or better yet hosting a DQSH proves one’s fealty to the Left-wing cultural Marxist agenda.
That’s the only reason I can think of why New York State’s Attorney General is proudly hosting a DQSH along with a host of high-profile Democrat politicians and the New York Public Library. Sponsors include:
Drag Story Hour, The LGBTQ Center, Pride Center of Staten Island, Destination Tomorrow, Brooklyn Library, Queens Library, and the New York Public Library, Councilmember Crystal Hudson, Councilmember Chi Ossé, Councilmember Erik Bottcher, Councilmember Tiffany Caban, Councilmember Shekar Krishnan, Councilmember Lynn Schulman, Assemblymember Daniel O’Donnell, Assemblymember Deborah Glick, Assemblymember Jessica Gonzalez-Rojas, Assemblymember Tony Simone, and State Senator Brad Hoylman-Sigal.
I shouldn’t be surprised. The City of New York actually funds Drag Story Hour to the tune of $200,000, presumably because their failing schools are incapable of teaching kids how to read, making them desperate to try anything. Perhaps exposing kids to the crotches of scantily clad men will get kids interested in opening books or something.
About half of New York City’s schoolchildren can read at grade level, so Attorney General James may genuinely believe that children need to see butt cheeks to develop more interest in books.
But no, I doubt it. I think she just wants them to get interested in male butts twerking. Because that is what DQSH is really all about.
There is precious little evidence that children become more likely to enjoy reading when exposed to men cosplaying women, making a parody of their looks and mannerisms. Drag shows are the equivalent of minstrel shows, where participants make fun of their subjects by ridiculing the stereotypes of their victims. If the shows consisted of performers in blackface the very people sponsoring this would be on the outside protesting. But since natal females are the subject of ridicule it’s all in good fun.
Letitia James, the Attorney General, is herself a parody of a liberal politician. Her main focus in office has been “getting” Donald Trump as if the most pressing issue for the people of New York is embarrassing the former president. It’s hard to imagine what could possibly be more important for a state’s Attorney General than suing Donald Trump.
Besides, of course, getting kids to watch men cavort around ogling children while pretending to be innocently reading a book.
What is wrong with these people?
