Let’s face it: most liberals don’t think too highly of minorities.

They usually direct their bile at heterosexual white men, but their real racial sentiments come out when they direct their contempt at minorities draped in the language of care and compassion.

One of the many ways this comes out is when the issue of crime comes up. It is a sad fact that a disproportionate percentage of both criminals and victims of crime are black.

Blacks commit about 3 times as many nonfatal violent crimes as whites do as a proportion of the population, and the majority of these crimes in all races are committed on people known to the perpetrators. And it’s not just violent crimes; it’s all crimes.

The response of white liberals? Basically to ignore this fact, or even worse to weaken the enforcement of the law. This not only makes law-abiding Blacks–the vast majority of Black people–more vulnerable to crime, but is indicative of a conceit that liberals won’t admit: that Black people can’t control themselves.

They hide the facts in many ways, and the one that struck me and got me going on this piece was a story about a hate crime committed at a church. The fact of the crime, and the arrest of the criminal were both reported, but one thing stood out: the race of the perpetrator wasn’t reported.

If the hate crime were White on Black, you would see headlines screaming the fact in the national news, along with renewed calls for a national conversation on race. But when the perpetrator is Black–and this is often true when discussing crimes, including with descriptions of fugitives we are supposed to be on the lookout for–that fact is not reported at all.

I have seen descriptions of shooters being sought that just said “male.” Not Black male or White male. Just “male.”

That isn’t a useful description, but it does keep the race of the perpetrator out of the conversation.

So let’s take a look at the particular crime that got me thinking about this:

ATLANTA — A community is working together to clean up graffiti used on a historic Atlanta church on Sunday.

Atlanta police told Channel 2 Action News officers received reports of vandalism at the Providence Missionary Baptist of Atlanta on Benjamin E. Mays Drive.

When officers arrived, they found hateful words spray painted all over the building.

A Channel 2 Action News photographer said he saw images of a swastika spraypainted on the main door in addition to racial slurs and other offensive language around the property.

After reviewing surveillance footage, police identified 60-year-old James McIntyre as responsible for the vandalism.

The investigation revealed that McIntyre was found sitting across the church and was arrested. …

The church’s former pastor, Reverend Doctor Gerald Durley, told Channel 2 Action News that he hopes the parties responsible are prosecuted under hate crime-related laws.

“This is an atrocity to America. It’s sad when on a Sunday morning when people come to worship that these kinds of abusive markings are placed all over the building.” Durley said. “Any words are offensive when they attach someone’s race, gender or faith.”

So a church in Atlanta–an historic church that serves black people primarily--was vandalized with a swastika and racial slurs. They caught the perpetrator. Later in the story the pastor says he hopes that the perp is charged with hate crimes.

As written you would expect this is just another in a long and deplorable line of White supremacist hate crimes plaguing the nation.

Yeah, no.

60-year-old James McIntyre, the Nazi guy, is Black.

That puts a slightly different spin on the story.

Liberals do everything they can to hide a fundamental reality about the racial characteristics of criminals because they seem to believe that nothing can be done about the propensity to commit crimes among them. They seem to genuinely believe that minorities are incapable of controlling themselves, so let’s just not talk about it.

That’s ridiculous. There is nothing about being Black that makes a person more likely to commit crimes. A Black person who grows up in an intact middle class family is not likely to be a criminal. A person’s race only matters to such things if there is a cultural element attached. And clearly there is. We often hear about how different “urban” culture is, and that is usually used as a synonym for “Black.”

And “Urban” culture is violent, destructive, and resentful of societal norms. We can have a discussion about whether that resentment is justified or not–in this liberals have a case to make, if not a wholly persuasive one–but it’s undeniable that “urban” culture is violent and often celebrates cruelty and criminality.

So you get more criminals, and with more criminals you get more victims. Mostly Black victims.

A few years back the San Francisco Bay Area Rapid Transit police refused to share the videos of crimes any more. Their excuse? They didn’t want to feed stereotypes. Meaning: the perps were black. But the stereotype represents something real, if incomplete. I am willing to bet my bottom dollar the perps weren’t wearing suits and carrying briefcases, and nobody would be scared of them if they were. Because whatever the race of that person, you know their subculture isn’t dangerous.

There are plenty of pockets of similarly self-destructive subcultures among other racial groups. White criminals tend to come from subcultures, and Hispanics who commit crimes are often in gangs. The problem is the subculture, not the race of the perpetrator. Some subcultures promote success, others not so much.

Liberals clearly don’t see it that way. At least not when it comes to minorities. They are all about identifying White Supremacists, and even labeling angry parents or conservative Catholics as potential terrorists.

It goes back to the denial of the moral agency of minorities, and that denial is much more racist than any subtle “microaggression.” It assumes a kind of subhumanity on the part of people incapable of acting civilized.

Ironically, we all catch on eventually to the dodge. I saw this story because an astute reader noticed that the criminal’s race hadn’t been listed. They wondered, looked him up, and of course they found what they expected: since his race wasn’t listed, he must have been Black.

Liberals are wrong about Black people. They are just as capable of being educated, civilized, decent, and law-abiding. By denying that fact liberals have allowed the schools to deteriorate in Black neighborhoods, condemning students to an endless cycle of poor education, bad economic prospects, and “urban” culture.

The two great scourges plaguing poor Blacks in America are broken families and liberal racism. No amount of affirmative action or money poured into black neighborhoods will make a dent in the prospects of poor Blacks until those are addressed.
