I haven’t much of an opinion about Lauren Boebert, because as one of 435 Members of the House of Representatives, she doesn’t stand out as particularly powerful or notable yet.

I vaguely know that liberals hate her and think she is stupid, but that is hardly different than what they think of all Republicans. We are all either evil or stupid, except John McCain and Mitt Romney once they were defanged. When they were political threats, they were evil.

Dead Republicans are OK, even wise, and far better than current Republicans. Even living Republicans are OK once they are out of politics. George W. Bush fits into this category now, although when he was in office he was both evil and stupid. I think it was James Lileks who coined the nickname “Chimpy McBush-Hitler” to describe how Bush was characterized by the Left.

So I know little about Boebert, except that Democrats treat her very badly and one Democrat said she should be on OnlyFans. This is the Democrat’s version of decorum:

Boebert is popping back up in the news because she sits on the committee that is investigating, among other things, electoral manipulation done by Twitter during the 2020 and 2022 campaigns. She was herself shadowbanned on the platform, vastly reducing her visibility to Twitter users. You couldn’t search for her or get notified when she tweeted. A sitting Congresswoman was mostly silenced for tweeting a joke.

Faced with the opportunity to challenge the Twitter executives who made the decision, she didn’t hold back.

Not a bit.

The Left is going nuts on her and other Republicans for being mean to the Twitter executives. They are dead wrong. Twitter engaged in wholesale manipulation of our elections over the years and took it upon themselves to suppress the speech of elected officials and anybody else they didn’t like or agree with.

They picked and chose what doctors could express opinions–suppressing people who were right about COVID while amplifying and even directing people to doctors who turned out to be wrong or even liars. They chose which politicians would get amplified or suppressed. They banned people for having the wrong opinions. They even banned the President of the United States.

Who the hell do they think they are, anyway? Gods? They followed no rules if they decided not to. They allowed gross falsehoods to be spread about Russian influence on Twitter–aiding the targeting of ordinary Americans as Russian assets when they knew that to be false.

They should answer for it. After all, the Democrats have screamed for 6+ years about Russian manipulation and disinformation in social media, so on what grounds can they complain when Republicans point out that Twitter engaged in the wholesale manipulation of the information Americans could access? They literally picked and chose who could speak and what could be said, amplified Democrat misinformation, and suppressed real information by labeling it misinformation.

Twitter, under the old regime, was a misinformation machine.

They should have to answer for that. And frankly, Boebert has a right to be pissed off.

AOC can go on rants on the House floor and in committees, spout half-truths, and fantasies, bouncing around like an excited preacher on Meth, and Democrats love it. So it isn’t decorum they care about. It is their own control over the Narrative.

Twitter was the Left’s favorite toy because they had a stranglehold on the flow of information. They have lost that, and it annoys them no end.

As for the whole “criticizing us puts us at risk” claim: they have allowed the most vile criticism of others on their platforms, and only care about it if a Lefty gets harassed. Has Yoel Roth gotten up to defend US Supreme Court justices from constant harassment in front of their houses–including assassination attempts.

Welcome to public life. It sucks, but the solution is not to prevent criticism of powerful people.

Right now I am 100% down on the whole “decorum” thing. Democrats have zero compunction about lying, screaming, demonstrating, shouting, and ripping up speeches. Screw them.

If it hurts us politically, then stop it. Otherwise? Vent a bit.
