Canada doesn’t have reeducation camps…yet.

But Justin Trudeau’s Canada is making progress towards becoming China’s North American twin. Compliance with the ideological diktats of the intelligentsia is apparently a requirement in order to keep your job these days.

Yesterday Jordan Peterson revealed and the College of Ontario Psychologists acknowledged that he has been “sentenced” to mandatory retraining in order to retain his license to practice clinical psychology in Canada.

I am to take a course of such training (with reports documenting my "progress" or face an in-person tribunal and suspension of my right to operate as a licensed clinical psychologist.

Just in case you didn’t know, Pierre Poilievre is the leader of the opposition Conservative Party in Canada, meaning that Jordan Peterson is literally being punished for criticizing the current Prime Minister and retweeting the statement of his political opponent–and a mainstream one at that.

The claim is that Jordan Peterson’s social media statements caused some unspecified “harm” to patients through his social media statements. This is the kind of “harm” and “trauma” we hear of all the time these days: people claiming to be traumatized by the existence of opinions to which they do not agree. Disagreement or having unapproved opinions is now a form of “stochastic terrorism,” a nonsense term used to smear ideological opponents.

In its wisdom @CPOntario decided to pursue these complaints even though they could have dismissed them@as vexatious

One would think that an organization that regulates clinical psychologists would focus on the impact such psychologists have on their patients. But rather than focusing on that, the organization has chosen to accept the word of random people who claim to have been harmed by Peterson having opinions that differ from theirs.

And even though many of them falsely claimed that they were or had been clients of mine and were allowed by @CPOntario to have their complaints investigated despite this falsehood

If I comply the terms of my re-education and my punishment will be announced publicly. I have already had the second most serious category of punishment levied against me and have been deemed at high risk to "re-offend."

A noose has been put around the necks of any member of a profession class who deviates from the accepted Narrative, which means that professional organizations have become economic and social status shock troops for the Left. Even if Canada were legally friendlier to free speech (and it is not, with Human Rights Commissions holding way too much power over the acceptable speech of people in the country), anybody in the professional class is under threat of losing their livelihoods should they step out of line.

The boundaries of acceptable speech are becoming narrower and narrower (as has happened in California with doctors, who are now legally liable if they deviate from the accepted COVID Narrative).

Peterson is utterly correct: if any licensed professional can lose his right to practice if they deviate from the Left ideology a widespread Lysenkoism is the inevitable result. All “expert” advice and knowledge is essentially regulated by ideological enforcers whose sole concern is maintaining a political unanimity, not ensuring the best outcome for the clients.

I am willing (if @CPOntario concurs, which they won't) to make absolutely every word of all this fully public so that everyone can decide for themselves what is actually happening
