Likely Antifa activist attacks Elon Musk's car and puts his son in danger

The Left keeps on screaming about how free speech puts the better people in danger, but when it comes to actual risk from political violence it is the Left who keep doing the actual attacking.

No, by that I do not mean that the average liberal wishes violence upon their adversaries, but clearly the Antifa Left and their supporters surely do.

That happened to Elon Musk last night. Online activists have been tracking his movements and reporting them on Twitter and elsewhere, and a masked man attacked a car that was carrying Musk’s young child “lil X.” (Yes, Musk gives his kids weird names). He clearly knew where Musk’s car was (he was not in it, but his son was).

If you have been anywhere in the Western world and not living under a rock, there has been a hate campaign directed at Musk for months. He has been compared to terrorists, accused of being a Q-Anon recruiter, called a threat to national security, and accused of putting people in danger by allowing free speech.

If saying “I think a woman is a human female person” is violence, what would you call that? Unsurprisingly some nut decided to act out against Musk.

So it turned out Musk and his family, and it’s hard to imagine that all the hate directed at him has nothing to do with. Especially since one of the initiatives Musk has pushed forward is kicking violent and pedophilia promoting accounts off Twitter, and that has led to the deplatforming of a lot of Antifa accounts. At the very least Musk’s taking on the more violent Antifa accounts (which were allowed on Twitter before…funny that….)

Antifa has been extremely angry at Musk, and it appears–I say appears, because the perpetrator has yet to be identified–that an Antifa member was involved in the attack.

Irony of ironies, the Left is claiming that Musk’s anti-doxxing rule is also anti-free speech. It clearly isn’t. The rule even states that delayed information is still allowed, but posting the real-time location of people actually is stalking, which is illegal and dangerous. Even a child could understand the distinction.

It is disturbing to see that the response to an assault–not battery, but it is assault and perhaps false imprisonment to run a car off the road and jump on it threatening harm–has been to attack Musk as a hypocrite. Normal people would at least pretend to be concerned for the safety of his children. But the fine folks on Twitter and in the Left media have shrugged it off and accused Musk of hypocrisy.

None of this means that Musk should be immune from criticism, even the hyperbolic sort that gets thrown at him daily, even hourly. It just goes to show that once you are in the arena things get riskier. Musk would have been at risk in any case because, well, he is the world’s richest man and that carries some baggage. Put on top of that the fact that he has made some powerful enemies and it isn’t surprising that nutters gonna be nuts.

If the Left actually believed that harshly criticizing puts people at risk, they would be apologizing to Musk instead of making snarky comments about his son’s encounter with a dangerous stalker. But they don’t believe it, or perhaps they do and they want Musk attacked.

I believe it is the former in almost all cases; they are just gaslighting when they claim to feel threatened. But those few who do wish death or injury upon their perceived enemies are truly evil or crazy people.

Nobody should tolerate actual calls to violence or these doxxing attacks. Most doxxing is done by the Left (think Taylor Lorenz), but anybody engaged in it is genuinely inciting violence.

I am appalled that Leftists are laughing at this incident, but unsurprised. Expect very few of them to condemn it.
