A couple weeks back the New York Times attacked conservatives for an election “conspiracy theory” that they had to admit was entirely accurate the very next day. The Times claimed it was crazy that Republicans were asserting that China’s Communist Party had infiltrated our election system–it was a conspiracy theory and attack on the Foundations of Our Democracy™.
The so-called “conspiracy theorists” were right, and the president of Konnech Elections Systems was arrested the very next day for–allowing China into our elections system.
Both Ed and I have written about this story earlier, enjoying the schadenfreude. Any time the New York Times gets egg on its face you have to revel in a bit of schadenfreude (ever notice how the Germans have a word for everything having to do with such things?)
Rasmussen pointed out another aspect of the story that has gotten insufficient coverage. I sure blew it in not following the story more closely.
We were all stunned that the Chinese had so easily infiltrated our elections. And unsurprised that the MSM would do everything they could to bury the evidence and call it into question. But largely missed among the stories is another fact: the FBI knew about this infiltration and did diddlysquat about it. Not a damn thing to stop it.

The New York Times decides to launch a hit piece on True the Vote, who they say falsely accused an American company of hosting the data of 2 million US election workers on a secret computer server in communist China.

That October 3 story was intended to be a complete smear on conservatives who were blowing the whistle on a genuine threat to American democracy–infiltration of our supposedly secure systems by the Chinese Communist Party. The obvious intent was to poke holes into the concerns raised about how insecure the 2020 election was, backing the Narrative™ that Joe Biden was elected in the Most Secure Election in US History™.

It was vital to attack conservatives raising questions because the American people aren’t buying that “most secure election” story, as revealed not just by Rasmussen but also by the Harvard/Harris poll that was released last weekend.
The election was not secure–that is established now–and the American people believe on balance that it wasn’t secure.

This is the bombshell: True the Vote had told the FBI about the breach of our elections security and the FBI jumped right on it and did…nothing. Even the arrest of the Konnech CEO wasn’t done by the FBI who ran away and hid on the issue, but by the LA County District Attorney. The feds had apparently decided that if the Narrative™ doesn’t fit, you must acquit. Why is the LA County District Attorney being forced to do the job of the FBI, while the FBI harasses the very people who discovered the problem? You and I can both guess.
In January 2021, Phillips said that the cyber analyst he had been working with encountered an “oddity in some of the URLs” such as vote4la.com, vote4detroit.com, and vote4boston.com, which Konnech’s “PollChief” software application used to gather personally-identifying information about poll workers.
Using Binary Edge, a software product companies use to identify and assess the risk of cyber breaches, “We began to look at where do these URLs resolve to. We found that most of them resolve to one I.P. address and that I.P. address — the URL resolved in China,” Phillips said.
“What we also learned in our review, apps.konnech.com [.net], resolved into this same URL in China, meaning that the application itself was residing in China,” he continued.
“In Binary Edge, you can figure out what type of database they are using, their database port, and all the different services offered by ports in this particular application living in China. It turned out that not only did it live there, but they left the database open.”
This database “stored the personally identifying information of over a million Americans,” he emphasized.
Engelbrecht and Phillips decided that “this was a major national security risk” and immediately took the information to the FBI.
So True the Vote went on to work with local FBI agents for 15 months, then everything changed this year:
In April 2022, Engelbrecht received a call from one of the FBI agents, who informed her that the FBI’s “Washington D.C. headquarters” was now involved in the investigation.
Engelbrecht described how everything changed after this call, “There was no more goodwill, there was no more let’s work together, the script had been flipped, and now we were the target,” she said. “That was a very disturbing call.”
The agent informed Engelbrecht that “two women” at the FBI’s headquarters believed that Phillips and Engelbrecht were “in the wrong for doing this” and that the D.C. office was now trying “to figure out how you guys broke the law to find all of this.”
Engelbrecht added, “which of course we didn’t, but that was kind of their MO [modus operandi], they were going to try to pin something on us, and today you can pick your headlines about how the FBI has done this time and again.”
Phillips remarked, “The problem is they know about this, and they chose to do nothing. They chose to investigate it, and in the end, they chose to blame us, but this is China. These are Chinese operatives in the United States; these are Chinese citizens who are programming this.”

Well…the FBI didn’t do precisely nothing about the election security breach. The FBI decided to turn the tables on True the Vote and go after them for discovering the infiltration. In a pattern that is now obvious the FBI acted as the Administration’s Secret Police and started investigating True the Vote for reporting entirely accurate and scary information. Rather than going after bona fide Chinese Communist spies they decided to crush the people who had discovered these spies in the first place.
These people appear to fit the description of “traitor.”
And thus Konnech CEO Eugene Yu is caught lying about storing the personal data of 2M US election workers in China. Legacy media goes totally silent. The CCP likely has had the access passwords to multiple US election systems and devices FOR YEARS.

Unbelievable. Or, perhaps, not unbelievable. We already know that the Chinese have infiltrated the highest echelons of the US academy and have deep ties to the political establishment, including the president’s son himself. It is very troubling, but hardly surprising that our supposedly “best” and most “trusted” law enforcement agency has chosen sides against the American people–burying evidence that the Chinese are likely influencing elections, while harassing those who are trying to get the story out.
With the complicity of the mainstream media, who worked hard to debunk the story. Remember that NYT story attacking the conspiracy theorists? Do you think they didn’t work with FBI types to shape this narrative?

It really is striking how hard the MSM has gone on the “election denier” story. And they don’t just cover it as a story, but describe skeptics of election security as themselves a threat to Democracy. And as the Konnech story is showing, they aren’t just siding with the Democrats on this; now that there is undeniable evidence that the Chinese are a clear and present danger to our elections, they are siding with the Chinese Communists. Who, by the way, provide billions in profits to our media industry and professional sports.

While it is shocking that the FBI had no desire to root out the Chinese influence, it should be more shocking still that holes in our election security still exist after being revealed.
Why not? I leave it to you to decide what you think. I have my own ideas on the matter.

Krebs is an employee of the Biden Administration–in charge of Cybersecurity. He is putting the credibility of the US government behind what is clearly an established lie.
If the Department of Defense had stored the design of the F-35 on a Chinese server for years there would be hell to pay–at least I hope so. But since this is just our election security and the results are pleasing to the people in power, it’s fine. These are the actions of people whose goal is not election security, but rather election result guarantees.
How like the Chinese Communists themselves.

I can’t speak to Gregg Phillips’ claim. Phillips, you may recall, was tapped by Donald Trump after the 2016 elections to look into claims that the vote totals had been manipulated in that election. We all have our suspicions about both that election and the 2020 one based upon evidence such as this, but now? Who can say for sure.
As somebody who has been involved in recounts here in Minnesota I can assure you that irregularities do occur, and have influenced close elections. I have seen it myself, with voter signatures that are in the same handwriting for 20 or more voters at a time. Election judges just shrug and say “count the votes”–at least that happened when I was counting the votes in a recount.
Trust nothing. Especially anything from people who have a huge stake in the outcome. But if you are doubting Phillips based upon evidence from the government or the MSM, keep in mind their non-existent credibility. As for Phillips’? I just don’t know for sure.

All this evidence makes it crystal clear not only that the Chinese Communists had access to our election system–they also had been found out and given a total pass by the people to whom our trust has been given. It is a total betrayal.
We have no evidence as of yet that the Chinese directly manipulated the vote totals. What we do know beyond a doubt is that the data breach here gave them ample opportunity to manipulate how our elections were conducted and in turn the results.
And–even more troubling if possible–the evidence is that the FBI covered it up and went after the very people who were trying to blow the whistle. And not just the FBI, but vast swathes of the Establishment who were getting the results that they wanted from the manipulated system.
All these people should be prosecuted, but they won’t be. Just as with the vast irregularities and outright violations of law being overlooked in the Crossfire Hurricane “investigation,” the people who commit the worst acts will go scott free.
Are we doomed by our own Establishment? They clearly are working overtime to kill our society and our economy. Are they also colluding to destroy our electoral system?
