I don’t want to refight the political war that started on the Drudge Report 10 years ago, but Hillary Clinton was on the Tyra show today and did address that topic. I don’t want to pile on the initial victim of Bill Clinton’s proclivities, but when Hillary says that she prayed to know what was the right thing to do at that time, and then the outcome was to lock arms and send James Carville and Paul Begala out to lie through their teeth to the entire world on behalf of a president who lied through his teeth to both Hillary and the country, all for a solid year, in order to turn a perjury and obstruction of justice case into “lies about sex,” well let’s just say I’m skeptical that that’s how prayers are typically answered.

And I’m equally skeptical that spinning up a “vast right-wing conspiracy” as she famously did came to her in a heavenly vision. And I’m skeptical that God told Hillary et al that if the rumor of Bill’s affair was true, then they “just have to win, then.” That news came in the form of an overnight Dick Morris poll. Their drive to win and maintain their power at all costs still divides the country.

For all the grief that conservative Christians get for abusing their faith, the Clintons really do top everyone else in the country in that category. And it earns them applause to this day. That anyone believes anything the Clintons and their surrogates say about anything after that year is a testament to humanity’s ability to will ourselves to believe anything.
