Breaking: Police officer shot on Virginia Tech campus

One second, my Twitter feed was filled with quotes from Eric Holder at the Fast and Furious hearing. The next second, it was filled with prayers for #vatech.

According to breaking news reports, a police officer has been shot on the Virginia Tech campus.

The suspect has been described as a white male in gray sweat pants, a gray hat with neon green brim, maroon hoodie and backpack, and he is supposedly still moving about the campus. The school has suspended transit services and has warned anyone on campus to seek shelter.

As Michelle Malkin tweeted, this underscores why VT students have pushed — to no avail — for concealed carry on campus.

Update I: The parking lot in which the shooting occurred — the Coliseum Parking Lot — has been roped off and the police officer has died. His body has been covered.

Update II: A second victim was shot and killed, as well. This is truly heartbreaking. My prayers are definitely with the victims, their families and the entire VT community!
