For the umpteenth time — yes, a shotgun is a very solid choice for in-home self-defense, but for goodness’ sake, stop trying to discount AR-15s and their ilk as an defense option because of your eagerness to discredit its possible uses and classify it as an “assualt” weapon. What a criminal can assault a law-abiding citizen with, a law-abiding citizen can just as easily deter and defend against criminals.
