A nice scoop for my friend Javier Manjarres, and an eye-opening allegation from someone whose party often benefits from media bias. DNC chair Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schulz told a Jewish Federation gathering that the Gaza war last summer demonstrated the hostility Israel faces in the media. “People hate us because of who we are,” she told the group the week after the Charlie Hebdo massacre, and warned that global anti-Semitism is increasing. So, too, is the imbalance on coverage of those issues. “Where is the balance where is the spotlight on what Jewish children in Israel go through from being victims of rocket attacks,” Wasserman Schulz told the audience she wondered while watching broadcast news, CNN, and … MSNBC:

Wasserman Schulz also described the threat that faces Israel, the US, and the West in terms that Barack Obama refrains from using, emphases mine:

Unfortunately what happens particularly with the global war on terror and the Islamic fundamentalists that are combating and leading it, we (Jews) are the crux of the reason that they are engaged in that fight.

Ahem. Doesn’t DWS mean “overseas contingency operations,” “man-caused disasters,” and, er … “organizations“? Andrew Malcolm pointed out the shortcomings of the Euphemism Presidency at Investors Business Daily today:

Asked about the horrendous video Tuesday as he was performing in a Cabinet photo-op, here is what the president of the United States said:

“Should in fact this video be authentic, it’s just one more indication of the viciousness and barbarity of this organization. And I think we will redouble the vigilance and determination on the part of the global coalition to make sure that they are degraded and ultimately defeated.

“It also indicates the degree to which whatever ideology they are operating off of, it’s bankrupt. We’re here to talk about how to make people healthier and make their lives better. And this organization appears only interested in death and destruction. Thank you very much, everybody.”

Seriously?

“This organization”? What, like the Rotary?

“This organization appears only interested in death and destruction.” Appears??? What planet’s he been on? Hasn’t the commander-in-chief been paying attention since he called ISIS the JV a year ago as that crowd continued shooting, beheading, crucifying, torturing, raping, enslaving thousands of innocents?

Andrew first heard that clip yesterday on my show, so you can hear his immediate reaction here. Wasserman Schultz says that “we have work to do” in educating people on the issues of terrorism, anti-Semitism, and Islamic fundamentalism. Maybe she can start at the White House.
