Today on The Ed Morrissey Show (4 pm ET), I’m returning from a week off due to strep throat, so I’m anxious to get back into the swing of things! Andrew Malcolm is on deep-undercover assignment, so we’ll talk to him next week and go with a great lineup for today:

- Rod Blum is running for the now-open House seat. We’ll take our first look at Iowa in the midterms with Rod, and talk about his endorsement from Steve Forbes.
- John Horvat returns to a debate I’ve largely missed — that of the Common Core curriculum. John opposes the “one size fits all” approach and says that CC doesn’t even succeed at teaching “the functional part” of education.
- Gabriel Malor, attorney and blogger at Ace of Spades HQ and host of the weekly Ace of Spades HQ podcast, will discuss the misinformation still coming from Democrats on Benghazi, and Barack Obama’s fundraising off of the issue yesterday for the DCCC.
- Fox News commentator Lauren Ashburn returns to TEMS to discuss her latest column criticizing the release of letters from Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis to her priest and confidante. Was this an unconscionable violation of privacy, or an important step toward refining the historical record?

Blum has a powerful new campaign ad out today, “With Honors,” featuring one of the students he coached:

The Ed Morrissey Show and its dynamic chatroom can be seen on the permanent TEMS page. Be sure to join us, and don’t forget to keep up with the debate on my Facebook page, too!
Keep praying that Marizela Perez will be found, and peace brought to her family.
Update: Ben Lange ran against Braley in 2010, not Blum.
