Christmas miracle: Peace in Bethlehem

I’m up early on Christmas morning, and the house is quiet.  I just poured myself a cup of coffee and decided to check the news feeds to see if anything important had transpired overnight, and indeed it has, in its own way.  The “little town of Bethlehem” in the West Bank has seen plenty of violence over the last couple of decades, and the number of pilgrims who come to the town of Jesus’ birth has dropped dramatically during that period.  Thanks to a remarkably extended lack of violence in the past couple of years, though, the Israelis removed most of the roadblocks in the area, and people have flocked back to Bethlehem to celebrate Christmas.  As MSNBC reports, the celebration was peaceful and joyous indeed.
