Al Franken just got hammered by the Minnesota Carpenters Union. Their endorsement for Norm Coleman reverses a string of Democratic endorsements and underscores the fringe nature of the Franken campaign:
When I occasionally listened to our local Air America affiliate, I heard plenty of advertising for unions — including, I believe, this particular union. I can’t find any supporting material from that period (I stopped listening even occasionally when I stopped commuting almost two years ago), but if my recollection is accurate, it’s an even bigger embarrassment for Franken. When his old sponsors at the liberal talk-radio network can’t bring themselves to publicly associate themselves with him, Minnesota Democrats have to wonder whether they can repair the damage Franken is doing to the brand.
