Last night we reported on a group of leftists who slandered the Young America’s Foundation on the campus of George Washington University. In that post, I noted that one of those responsible is GW masters degree student Adam Kokesh, a former Marine who has turned anti-war and now runs with the Iraq Veterans Against the War crowd. That group was responsible for propping up phony soldier Jesse MacBeth.
Kokesh’s confessed cohorts at GWU include fellow student Brian Tierney. Helpfully, Mr. Tierney has a Facebook page that helps us understand what motivated him to distribute slanderous posters around the GWU campus, posters that depicted the YAF’s Islamo-Fascism Week as an orgy of racism. Those of us who aren’t students at GWU can’t access Tierney’s Facebook page, but that hasn’t stopped the details of that page from getting out.
Let’s take a look at the groups that Mr. Tierney belongs to.
October Rebellion-Resist Neoliberalism ▪ Lucky Dub ▪ CAN – GWU Campus Anti-War Network ▪ Campus Antiwar Network ▪ Ejército Zapatista de Liberación Nacional ▪ Students In Solidarity with the People of Oaxaca ▪ Mexico Solidarity Network ▪ Rose’s Place ▪ The VT gunman does NOT represent all Asian-Americans (Stop the Hatred) ▪ The GWU & Virginia Tech Alliance ▪ Extradite Chiquita Officials ▪ Students Against Illegal Israeli Settlements ▪ SIT Mexico Spring 2007 ▪ TRANCE ADDCITS ▪ STONERZ Lounge ▪ Virgins of GW, Unite! ▪ Students Against Sweatshop Labor at GWU!!! ▪ Katrina Relief ▪ DC Student Labor Action Project ▪ DarfurFast (10/5/06) ▪ MAKE TRADE FAIR ▪ Progressive Student Union ▪ Stop the War on Lebanon ▪ Fuck You Paperclip From Word (GW Chapter) ▪ Bush Is Not My President!!!! ▪ George Bush Doesn’t Care about Black People ▪ Gw Socialist Society ▪ Students For Justice In Palestine ▪ Ann Coulter Is a Fugly Slut ▪ This Is the Face of a Feminist
Socialists, check. Pro-illegal aliens, check. Anti-Israel, pro-whoever is fighting Israel, check. Hatred for Bush and Coulter, check. Darfur advocacy, check.
Yup. Typical lefty student.
What else has Mr. Tierney posted? Well, his interests include
Revolution, Politics, Socialism, Writing, Poetry, Sparking Trees, sleeping…
No, I don’t know what “sparking trees” means either. Going by the quotes he has posted as his favorites, Tierney is politically somewhere to the left of Lenin.
“If you tremble with indignation at every injustice, then you are a comrade of mine.”
– Ernesto “Che” Guevara
“Our fear that communism might someday take over most of the world blinds us to the fact that anti-communism already has.”
“The foreigner coming from another country imposed his rule by means of guns and machines…The natives’ challenge to the colonial world is not a rational confrontation of points of view…”
–Imperialism is not an intellectual exercise; imperialism is the flagrant admission of the imperialist that he cannot compete on the intellectual plane and so he has abandoned reason, surrendering his purpose to sheer force. Thus, intellectualism and its discourses alone will not suffice in overcoming imperial aggression.–
“High poverty signals capitalism triumphant… It must come from the poor, a rebellion of the spirit, that reaffirms their intrinsic human worth, based upon who they are rather than what they possess.”
– Mumia Abu-Jamal
Che, check. Mumia, check. The guy’s a walking stereotype. And a mediocre writer, if you go by his “About Me” section.
I go to school in Washington DC at the George Washington University, majoring in International Affairs with a regional concentration in Latin America.
I write poetry occasionally. I love to listen to political underground hip-hop; I’m an Immortal Technique fanatic. Beyond that though, my political education began many years ago when I started to listen to Rage Against the Machine. Since then, I’ve been a committed leftist fighting for socialism, demanding freedom for political prisoners like Mumia Abu-Jamal, and struggling to one day topple this fucked up imperialist empire you call America. I think that Bush, Cheney, Wolfowitz and the rest of that neoconservative, “Project-for-a-New-American-
Century”-clique that’s taken over this country should line up in the firing squad so I can spray those degenerate fascist fuckers. Kidding..kind of. Anyway, I’ve also been attracted to the works of Noam Chomsky and anarcho-syndicalism. Some of the first things that need to go in order to remedy the classist injustices and socioeconomic inequalities inherent in this hyper-capitalistic global economy are the IMF, the World Bank, WTO, and NAFTA….. I stand in solidarity with the people of Palestine and their struggle against the apartheid state of Israel. Zionism IS racism. The construction of the apartheid wall is a campaign of economic strangulation, physically restraining the already-restricted movement of Palestinians in their own homeland and marginalizing their existence in a manner that would otherwise be considered unthinkable in the 21st century. Israel demolishes Palestinian homes daily – it defames the humanity of Palestinian lives while mocking International Law with utter impunity. Long Live the Intifada! …. I AM A FEMINIST. Like racism, misogyny is a subliminal ideology that permeates our society – yes, even in American society, our corporate culture is so thoroughly caught in the mental fetters of patriarchy.
I guess my chief talent would be writing (I’m thinking of minoring in journalism). I also like to rap sometimes (“I spit hot fire”).
MAN’S INNATE FREEDOM IS SUCH THAT IT SCARES HIM AND HE IS FOUND ERECTING A VAST FORTRESS OF INSTITUTIONS, CONSTRUCTS, AND ARBITRARILY DELINEATED NORMS AROUND HIMSELF. HE CONFUSES SUPERFLUOUS SOCIETAL REIFICATIONS WITH HUMANITY. -B. Tierney
I’m guessing that if writing is his chief talent, he’s going to have a hard time finding work.
More: The “Guerilla Writer” has a MySpace page. Warning: It plays a hideous and foul-mouthed rap when you go to it. Much Mumia video to be found there.
