Get out there on Election Day and end this Trumpy craziness, says ... Michael Cohen

Of all the deeply weird plotlines the writers of our virtual reality have concocted in the past three years, having Trump’s longtime henchman turn into a Trump-hating Democrat somehow seems the weirdest.

It’s like Luca Brasi leaving the Corleone family and joining the FBI to fight crime.

Thank God it’s Friday and I’ve been drunk since breakfast. Now, when I remember watching this clip tomorrow, I’ll be able to convince myself that it never really happened.

If that sounds vaguely like a line someone might deliver at a campaign rally, there’s a reason!

Michael Cohen, Democratic advocate, is a cute pre-midterm storyline for Trump. Michael Cohen, cooperating witness, is less cute:

Michael Cohen and his attorney met Wednesday with a group of state and federal law enforcement officials investigating various aspects of President Donald Trump’s family business and charitable organization, according to people familiar with the meeting.

The group, which included the federal prosecutors from the US Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York who charged Cohen in August and officials from the New York Attorney General’s office, met at the Midtown New York City office of Cohen’s attorney, Guy Petrillo, these people said…

The meeting comes as Cohen, Trump’s former personal attorney, has spent hours huddling with prosecutors from the office of special counsel Robert Mueller. Cohen’s cooperation with investigators could help reduce the sentence he’s set to receive December 12 for the crimes to which he pleaded guilty in New York. Cohen has said privately a reduced sentence is not his motivation.

Thirteen months ago Cohen was telling people that he’d take a bullet for Trump. Thirteen months later he’s meeting with virtually every prosecutor in America while his buddy, Donny Deutsch, is on TV saying things like, “I would be shocked if, at the end of the day, we are not looking at both obstruction of justice and collusion from 40 different angles. And I’m sure Michael’s in a position to help out, if that’s the case.”

The most gripping dramatic plotlines always take time to unfurl. But they’re always worth it in the end.

Exit question: Is this guy still Hannity’s lawyer or nah?
