No Kavanaugh or Christine Blasey Ford this morning, needless to say, but MAGA Nation’s new favorite senator will turn up to make the case for speedy confirmation. Lindsey Graham is the lead guest on “This Week,” where he’ll be followed by MAGA Nation’s new least favorite senator, demagogue Mazie Hirono. Top question, of course: How do they feel about the new Flake-imposed one-week FBI investigation? Expect Graham to emphasize that one week is the absolute maximum and Hirono to emphasize that even a 10-year probe wouldn’t satisfy her.
Appearing elsewhere for Team Brett will be the White House’s two most prominent women aides, Kellyanne Conway and Sarah Huckabee Sanders. The former will drop by “State of the Union” while the latter sits down with “Fox News Sunday.” Appearing for Team Delay will be Amy Klobuchar, a surprising choice given that she’s among the most low-key members of the Senate. Maybe Democrats calculated that they’re better off at the moment with someone who seems like she’s taking this seriously (she’s a former prosecutor) than with a Gillibrand or Booker emote-fest. Klobuchar, who earned an apology from Kavanaugh at Thursday’s hearing after he answered a question about drinking by asking her if she drank, will be on “Face the Nation” and “State of the Union.”
One other person to watch is Jerrold Nadler, who’ll follow Graham and Hirono on “This Week.” Why is he important? Because he’s the ranking member on the House Judiciary Committee and thus a cinch to become chairman next year if Democrats take back the House. And if in fact there’s an effort to further investigate and potentially impeach Justice Kavanaugh, it’ll start with Nadler and his committee. The full line-up is at the AP.
