Sunday morning talking heads

The Sunday shows have a fever and the only prescription is more Russiagate. The star guest this morning: Professional ratf***er turned Trump crony Roger Stone, who had not one but two aides subpoenaed by Bob Mueller this week. He’ll be on “Meet the Press” to discuss what he knew from Wikileaks and when he knew it during the 2016 campaign as well as the growing likelihood that he’ll be indicted for something or other.

The other lead guest is Mark Warner, top Democrat on the Senate Intel Committee. He’s in the news this week for two reasons. First is his surprising support for Gina Haspel as CIA chief, which may well have been the deciding factor in her eventual confirmation. Second is his warning on Friday to congressional Republicans not to disclose the name of the FBI’s source inside the Trump campaign (even though it’s increasingly clear from media reports who it was) lest they find themselves charged with a crime. He’ll be on “Face the Nation” and “State of the Union.”

Finally, the horror in Santa Fe requires another round of pointless gun-control debate. Oliver North, who’s been president of the NRA for all of 12 days, will be on “Fox News Sunday” to defend gun rights. Mark Kelly, a.k.a. Mr. Gabby Giffords, will appear for the prosecution, although I assume they’ll be on in different segments rather than debating each other. The full line-up is at the AP.
