Sunday morning talking heads

No Trump or Pence this fine Sunday morning, the first of the new administration, but if you want insight into how the first 100 days are apt to play out, the shows have got you covered. New White House chief of staff Reince Priebus will be on “Fox News Sunday” and new White House advisor Kellyanne Conway will appear on “This Week” and “Face the Nation” to discuss the inauguration, Trump’s “American carnage” speech, and what’s coming soon on ObamaCare and tax reform.

The red meat today, though, may come from the Senate. Mitch McConnell is set to follow Priebus on “Fox News Sunday” while Chuck Schumer guests on “This Week” and “State of the Union.” There are still all sorts of Trump cabinet nominees waiting to be confirmed, most notably Rex Tillerson, as well as a momentous Supreme Court nomination soon to be considered, likely in the person of Judge William Pryor. McConnell and Schumer will provide the state of play on that. Are Democrats prepared to filibuster Pryor? (Spoiler: Yes.) Is McConnell prepared to nuke the filibuster if they do? Lindsey Graham, who’ll be on “Face the Nation,” and John McCain, who’ll appear on “This Week,” will be asked about that too. They’re traditionalists. Will they really go along if Trump demands that the filibuster be eliminated?

The full line-up is at the AP.
