“Munich” meets “Borat” meets “Coming to America” meets an endless array of gags about mincing male hairdressers. Too bad. A terror comedy with Billy Madison as the west’s secret weapon would have been genius but this makes it look like a subplot in service to the much more important task of letting Sandler act comically flamboyant.

The good news? This one’s unlikely to devolve into moral equivalence as the subplot heats up. Exit question: What was the last truly memorable comedy he did? I liked “50 First Dates” but that’s not considered a true Sandler classic the way Madison, “Happy Gilmore,” and “The Wedding Singer” are. Maybe “Big Daddy”? That was 1999, dude.
