Open thread: Palin interviews Trump, and ... Jeb Bush?

A little PSA in lieu of a QOTD. Tonight, 10 p.m. ET on One America News Network, the most populist TV moment of an unusually populist campaign season unfurls. What a perfect way for Palin, Trump, and OAN to screw their mutual frenemy, Fox News. Think Roger Ailes would have enjoyed the ratings from a Palin/Trump interview special?

If Palin’s Facebook page is any indication, the media’s interest in Trump’s ability to quote chapter and verse from scripture might come up:

WTH, LAMESTREAM MEDIA! STAY OUT OF MY BIBLE

WTH? Lamestream media asks GOP personal, spiritual “gotchas” that they’d NEVER ask Hillary, or they’d feed the question to her and/or liberal cohorts before they asked it on-air (we know how these things work, lapdog media… the public’s on to you), so good on Trump for screwing with the reporter. By the way, even with my reading scripture everyday I wouldn’t want to answer the guy’s question either… it’s none of his business; it IS personal; what the heck does it have to do with serving as commander-in-chief; and these reporters trying to trip up conservatives can go pound sand until they ask the same things of their favored liberal pals. I’ll cover this in my interview with Donald Trump and other candidates tonight on the One America News Network show “On Point.” The more the media does this, the more they empower America to reject them and their bias as voters run to the anti-status quo candidates daring to Go Rogue.

I commend her on that, as I’m sure do many of the less religious Republicans out there who wouldn’t want their Bible-quoting ability to be used as a litmus test for office. I didn’t anticipate Trumpmania as a vehicle to get people to ask what reciting gospel passages has to do with commanding the military, but if it serves that purpose, here’s to it. Meanwhile, Trump’s not her only guest tonight. I think this interview will easily be the more interesting, frankly:

Palin was complimentary of Jeb back in June when he gave a speech highlighting work he’d done as governor to help kids with special needs. She’s doing him a favor here by giving him a little populist credibility by association. What she gets in return, apart from some angry “Why are you handing that RINO a platform?” e-mails, I’m not sure. Maybe it’s a pure cachet thing: She’s still influential enough among the GOP base that the establishment’s fair-haired boy will come to kiss the ring.

Rounding out the guests tonight is another Palin favorite, Ted Cruz. Minor problem if you’re preparing to watch: Not all cable providers carry OAN. AT&T Uverse and FiOS do, but if you’re stuck with one that doesn’t, try the OAN app. It’s apparently on Roku and Amazon Fire, but not Apple TV. I assume the OAN website will livestream it too, although according to their Facebook page, demand for tonight’s interview has crashed their homepage. It’s offline as I write this at a little after 7 p.m. ET.
