No relief this Sunday from the media heat wave you and I know as Trumpmania: The man himself will be the lead guest on “This Week,” in case his Friday night rally in Alabama wasn’t enough Trump for you this weekend. If you can only stomach one Trump-related chat-show guest today, I recommend tuning into “State of the Union” and hearing from his campaign manager, Corey Lewandowski, who succeeded in muscling out some of his boss’s older hands like Roger Stone earlier this month. Lewandowski’s running the show now; if you want to know what the state-by-state strategy is to turn this spectacle into winning the presidential nomination of the Republican Party, he can articulate it better than Trump can.

And what if that strategy fails? Gabriel Sherman on the worst-case scenario:

It’s also possible that a Trump who is losing would be more erratic than the one who is winning. “His numbers are going to come down, and then he’s going to panic,” a Trump friend told me. “He doesn’t believe it will ever happen. He has not confronted this in his mind,” says another conservative who knows Trump well. So, if you think Trump has been unpredictable now, just wait. “The things that have already come out of his mouth are so much worse than so many things that sunk Herman Cain and the other flavors of the month last time,” another Trump friend says. It’s not hard to imagine Trump launching a kamikaze mission against the candidates left standing…

When — if? — Trump withdraws from the campaign, he will no longer have a ready landing pad on television. (His Apprentice deal with NBC has been canceled, too.) This is a prospect that is likely terrifying for Trump — and should, in turn, be terrifying for Bush. In a recent phone call with a longtime friend who has been acting as an informal adviser, Trump warned: “If I’m going down, then Bush is going down with me. He’s not going to be president of the United States.”

Your move, Lewandowski. Elsewhere in 2016 chatroulette this a.m., Ben Carson will appear on “State of the Union,” Carly Fiorina will be on “Meet the Press,” Mike Huckabee will sit down with “Fox News Sunday,” Ted Cruz and Chris “Who?” Christie will guest on “Face the Nation,” and Scott Walker will follow Trump on “This Week,” where he’ll continue to try to avoid directly answering tough questions that are put to him.
