Open thread: Sunday morning talking heads

I thought jihadi savages cutting off an American’s head followed by a presidential vow of vengeance would be enough to make James Foley the lead story on the Sunday shows. Nope: It’s more navel-gazing over Ferguson this morning, with Missouri Gov. Jay “Vigorous Prosecution” Nixon the lead guest on “Meet the Press” and “State of the Union” and Rep. William Lacy Clay, whose district includes Ferguson, on “This Week” and “Face the Nation.” If it’s ISIS news you want, stick with “This Week” for Homeland Security Committee chair Michael McCaul or “Fox News Sunday” for John McCain, who’ll naturally be demanding that the U.S. do much, much, much more than it’s already doing.

If none of that grabs you, Rand Paul will also be on “Meet the Press” to chat about the eye surgeries he’s performing in Guatemala during Congress’s August recess. The full line-up is at the AP.
