Video: The greatest chat-show promo ever?

Via Business Insider. The key to appreciating this clip is to understand that it’s probably the best 30 seconds culled from a longer segment. The way these things are shot, I assume, is to get the person talking about politics, let him riff for 10 minutes, then clip the most effective part for the promo. And this is what he came up with, to advertise the 6 p.m. “news” hour on a network that calls itself “The Place for Politics.” He sounds like my grandfather after 10 beers trying to explain politics to a five-year-old.

Or am I wrong? The possibility that this was scripted is simply … too much to bear. Exit question: Why didn’t he get his buddy Newt to make a cameo? Bipartisanship!
